Posts: 66Downtown Nuevo Laredo and other Musings
I wonder if any of those flea bags in downtown NL are still open. The last one I stayed at a couple of weeks ago, "El Cheapo", was crawling with bed bugs. Hadn't been there in years, never going back again. I did, however, manage to swipe a roll of toilet paper when I left--worth its weight in gold up here in SA: bunch of pussies scared of their own shadows, obsessed with the latest designer virus from China, aka the "Shanghai Shivers"(thank you James Woods).
As for airbnb and its cousins, lyft and uber, stick a fork in them, they're done. People took out huge mortgages and loans to buy houses and cars to turn them into airbnbs and ubers, and now guess what: no customers. The airlines might get bailed out, but not these guys. $1200 in Trump Bux is not going to get them very far, and BTW have you gotten your bux yet, I haven't, and don't know anybody that has.
And as for the Coronavirus task force, what a joke. Fauci and Birx are relying on terrible models. They want to keep us on lockdown forever. Find a vaccine? Yeah, sure, Bill Gates has never been able to keep viruses out of Windows. Now he's going to find a vaccine for Covid-19? What a laugh. Should have gotten the BCG vaccination years ago like me. Gives you immunity to almost everything, not just TB. Don't believe me, just google it.
Well, at least here in Texas Gov Abbott wants to open things up as soon as possible. Go for it, Greg. I need to get me a damn haircut!

I usually go on Greyhound, use the others for backups, but just remember that their station in Monterrey is in the northern part of town, and you have to take the Metro to get downtown.
I was in NL Mar 28-29, no problems crossing either way, brought back 4 boxes of amoxicilina, declared them, no problems there either.

For sharing the latest news from your lenses. A couple of weeks ago I went to the omex bus station in San Antonio and they said that 2 buses were still circulating from here to Monterrey and back. I am not sure what it's like now. The USA has it worse than any other country right now and the curve has not flattened enough. Not only did I enjoy going to Monterrey but being able to buy medicine right across the border helps allot of Americans who don't have health insurance. Can Americans still go to Nuevo Laredo to buy medicine and cross the bridge right back to the USA? I know it's not even possible to travel in car from San Antonio to Laredo right now unless it's for essential purposes.

Nuevo Laredo starts curfew hours tonight, Thursday the 9th. Hours are 10 p to 6 a. No fines or jail time are listed in the order. I just says the police or military will stop you and encourage you to go home.
When I came across the bridge, from work yesterday, I was asked if I lived in Nuevo Laredo. There was no issues letting me pass.

Hotels in Laredo and MTY are now requiring a certified letter saying your are in Mexico for work. Has to be on letterhead, and stamped. They might let you stay one night, but total pain in the Ass. This totally sucks.

I do not think Mexico, can survive a month shut down, so I feel that the quarantine will not last one month. All countries will probably be forced to weigh there options.
