Concerning the State of Emergency, the Prime Minister of Thailand will take his decision in 1 Week.

The Thai Prime Minister said today, Tuesday April 21, 2020, that he would decide in 1 week whether the state of emergency should be extended beyond April 30, 2020.

He added that the collaboration of people to fight infections and the updated information from the Ministry of Public Health will be essential to his decision. Although the situation appeared to be improving, he said he did not want to hastily lift the restrictions. He added that he will not be pressured and will rely, first and foremost, on medical information and whether the country would be prepared to handle the situation after the restrictions were lifted.

He said if things got worse after the restrictions were relaxed, all the work to curb the contagion would be a waste of time.

The Prime Minister also called on economic operators to propose measures they would take after the relaxation of the Lock.

For their part, local businesses and businesses hope that the government will loosen some restrictions this week to give them some breathing space after being severely affected by the "Covid-19" epidemic.

As a reminder, the government put the country in a state of emergency from March 26 to April 30,2020 and imposed a curfew from 10 pm To 4 am On April 3, 2020 until further notice.

The rent is 3,500 baht per month with air con use electricity extra. Nothing is in my name. Not a bad room and building really. No way Thailand will have shortage of mongers. Clubs will be packed. Clubs will still make small profits enough to keep it going. Thailand is like well oiled juggernaut machine, people will come here no matter if there are cheaper options or beautiful girls available elsewhere.

You guys need to get called out a bit, its still the golden age in Bangkok. This is just nostalgia from the past, we all get it sometimes. The current scene was going extremely strong, it just wasn't as hilariously cheap or perfect as it was 40 years ago (I wasn't there then, but have heard plenty on it). Someone showing up to BKK in 2019 would be having an amazing time and not even know there was something else before. It is still (pre-covid) one of the top and cheapest spots in the world. I've been to a lot of the spots--Thailand is fucking value and a half. Please don't argue that back in the day it was 1000 baht instead of 2000 now. The shit is still quite good. When you can go to Tulip for PSE for 2000 baht or get to walk around Nana looking for your right girl to take home for not too much more, we're in business. Let alone all the escort site prices that are very reasonably priced for a hottie. Yeah, OK that Tulip girl is a bit older, and the bar fine is a little more, and there's more tourists, sure, there is, but everything is still going well.

Hell I would say the scene was even better now than it was 10 years ago. Lots of places have improved, internet and smartphone made stuff even easier. Prices are still dirt cheap.

That being said, its going to take some serious time to recover after all of this, and I do wonder when the tourist market will begin to flourish again in Bangkok (it may in the south before Bangkok), so in that time I wouldn't be surprised if many girls found other stuff to do, went home, or went the thai guys scene instead of asians / farangs.

Well stated. The scene was pretty stable for my first six or so years here. That would be 99-06. Started to wane a bit after the 06 coup. Oilies kicked into gear then, so that was a saving grace. I too have heard about how great Korea was prior to the olympics. One guy who lived there at the time said the bar scene was better than BKK ever was, and it was all gone in an instant. Closed Dec 31st 1987. Here no need for heavy handedness, that is not the Thai way; simply don't allow the places to open for a while longer and make regulations that will be difficult to comply with. And there you have it. Sigh, it really is depressing.
