Soi 11 places are (were?) basically knocking shops. They aren't technically ripoff venues (you only pay what you agree to), but offer poor value and experience. You get a basic wham-bam quickie session in crappy facilities (no privacy, no proper shower) for a price that needs to be negotiated and typically ends up between 2000-3000 baht for FS when you count the massage fee. Now, wham-bam has its place, but I'd rather go to a low-end brothel where the deal is 100% clear, no bullshit, and pay 600-1000 baht for the same thing.

Not sure about other places, it's certainly NOT safe to assume every massage shop in a tourist area offers FS.

Though I am an Indian and prefer value for money, I don't like the places that are often visited by Indians because of their attitude (snobbish) towards sex and women. Farangs too behave the same way but in a suave manner. So I always prefer the places that cater to East Asian men who are generally mellow in nature. Once Kiss told me that a lot of Indian men visit Doki Doki every day. Earlier I used to get a premium feel whenever I visit Doki Doki. After that conversation with Kiss, it is just like any other place for me.

Construction projects for commercial office buildings and condominiums may be questionable not only in Bangkok, but around the world. Financing for such construction projects is difficult to find and financial institutions may find it very hard to even survive after this pandemic "ends". Even the free flow of cash from China may find currency restrictions and business operations significantly impaired or even destroyed from the economic devastation that is upon us. So unless the people putting up a building have $100 million in cash somewhere, the likelihood of any major building projects coming up in a city near you will be zero.

The corner of soil 26 is prime for a high rise. Just a few meters away is a new office building going up. If the oilies are squeezed by new regs owners will gladly sell for the right price. Demand? Far less than it was just a few years ago. The places were struggling before COVID. Plenty of real estate? Do you know what commercial real estate on Sukhumvit goes for these days? Tulip is in the best location to make it, but again, it depends on gov regs and how long they will have to stay closed.

Thailand's one of biggest USP is massage shops, specially among tourists. If they really fuck with massage shops, well it will be really bad. Most shops can't handle outcall model. Plus it just won't be as profitable, there will be lots of bait and switches here.

And many of us that use the shops are not the least bit interested in outcall. We are locals and want a place we can go to, take care of things, and leave. I would imagine that at least 50% of the business for oilies comes from locals. It's probably more.

They will survive. Some many close. Some may move. Some may stay the same.

It's true, the government is going to start easing the lockdown next month but it will be gradual and massage parlours are likely to be the last places allowed to reopen given the unavoidable close personal contact. But they occupy prime real estate and rent has to be paid. Even if they do reopen how many customers will there be? The owners must be thinking of throwing in the towel.

I agree with you on this one. 24/1 sits on prime real estate. If it weren't for the fact that those are individually owned shophouse, it would have been gone long ago. I am sure it will be made "difficult" for the oiles to open again. I think there is a better than 50% chance we have seen the end of them.

Then, a massage, during which, seems (ha, ha), a lot of attention is paid to your groin. Last time, no options, no price discussed; girl must have been new. Sushi, limited English, but enough to explain (only) 2 options: HJ, 500; or HJ + B2 B with touching allowed, 1000. What can I say, I'm a pushover, so opted for the higher class. She strips naked; quite nice. Her B2 B, with the sliding, was much more enjoyable then either of my 2 visits to Doki-Doki, no nuru required. You should have complained with the papasan. HJ is included in the price; it's the same concept as the Kapoo places. You only play for extras, such as touching, undressing, and whatever the girl is willing to negotiate. That girl clearly tricked you.
