I've always said that mongers occupy the lower middle ground in the market, too scared to roam the back streets of Tondo knock shops and not invited to the high end girls' apartments.

Are you suggesting this is any different to the West?

I'm not big on Conspiracy Theories. However, being a cashed up and/or connected Football Star, Bishop or Comedian will always trump any romantic ideal of equal justice for all.

I agree pretty much with this part of your post. I enjoy Korean food and I will fly Korean airlines if the price is right.

I lived in Korea I like them individually. However I discerned that Koreans will often give poorer service to foreigners. Prostitution is everywhere in Korea but good luck finding outlets that will accept non-Koreans.

The lonely horny poriner puts on his cape and swoops in to save those poor Pinays hoping for love and companionship in return for his money.

The last violent revolution in the Philippines was in 1986 when the Marcos family was kicked out. After spending a few years in exile in Hawaii, they managed to return. They have kept all of their stolen wealth and are only a few steps away from the Presidency. Nothing much changes in the Philippines. The ruling class are in bed with the Chinese-Fil business elite and have full control of the police, military and judiciary.

The Phiippines is not really a poor country.

It is a country with extreme inequlity in wealth distribution.

Look around Makati, you will see exotic automobiles daily, You will routinely see vehicles costing USD 100,000 on th esreet. Look at the hops in GB 4 for example, lots of costly merchqandise. It is not all foriegners buying and driving this wealth.

Not a poor country but one with exreme wealth inequality resulting in lots of poor people and a few very wealthy with no middle class as we know it in the west to speak of. This is a traditinal formula fo social unrest perhaps even violent revolution.

Seems to be a few BS economics majors here that have concluded that the Koreans have a conspiracy to take over Angeles City. Especially the bars in Walking Street and the perimeter bars. That is the oppression by takeover they are talking about.

I am not a BS economics major nor have I taken a class in economics, so fwiw I think it is just a matter supply and demand. Simply there is more Korean demand and the supply side is fulfilling it. The dwindling westerners are complaining the conspiring invading Koreans are taking over their turf.

Would have to be a pretty dang big conspiracy to be lining up Korean airlines and what not!

    Don't fund your oppressors

Your predictions should be qualified by the Koreans aren't going down without a fight. They are organized and they seem to have capital resources. They may seize upon this downturn as an opportunity to expand their footprint.

Boycott them, don't give them your money to use against you, don't buy drinks in the bars or eat food at their restaurants. Don't fly Asiana or Korea Air, don't but LG products or Hyundai.

And never ever buy any garbage with Samsung on it.

Philippines poverty is nothing compared to poverty you see in Africa, Bangladesh, etc.

I actually feel poor here in Dumaguete with all the new SUVs, nice beach houses. Are there poor people in the P. I. -sure: in the squatter areas of Manila, and other cities you can find them. One reason they are poor is that the rich Filipinos take advantage of them and could care less about their welfare-most pols here are taking money under the table from businesses, etc. It's one of the most corrupt countries on the planet.

IF the Koreans expand their footprint then KTV bars will replace the go go type bars. Even now the Korean owned bars set up thier bars like KTV bars with girls in long dresses you pick out of a lineup and take her out. Drinkin bars with girls in bikinis will be gone altogether. Not to many of them left anyhow.
