I read on swissinfo.ch that there will be another vote on September 27 to scrap the Free Movement of People agreement between the EU and Switzerland.

This was an issue voted on back in 2014, and has implications for Romanian WGs working in Swiss clubs like Globe. I recall Globe putting a halt on club improvements until this was resolved, as losing those girls would cripple the clubs. It seemed to get politically bogged down and shelved.

What do locals think may happen?
I fear given the economic impact of the current crisis there might be a tendency towards nationalism / controlling borders / curtailing immigration & foreign workers.

Yes but I think will be more for other kind of jobs, prostitution they have to take from other countries.

What personally I don't like is that they allow for this job only EU girls, it's a particular job they should open for other countries too.

In my case, if I knew it were due to jealousy, maybe it wouldn't be too bad. I sometimes wonder if it's part of the work and the need to cut emotions out? Romania is part of the EU which means all Romanians have freedom of movement within the EU. Almost every girl who works at Globe speaks decent English too. Any of the girls there could move to the UK or Ireland and get a hospitality job making EUR 1.5-2 k per month, a substantial increase compared to the EUR 600 per month that a person with a good education could earn in Bucharest (the capital). The reality is that most of the girls are too proud to do a proper job and feel entitled to money based on their looks. They want high end clothes, fancy holidays, a nice apartment and a new car back home without doing the hard work that the rest of us do. I feel little sympathy for these girls. My heart goes out to the girls in places like Thailand who live on a few bucks a day.

I disagree, pimps are for little to no use. There is simply no need for them. The girls can work in clubs without having one, they can find clubs by words spreading, and so on.

Yes, there is some initial money required for traveling, but this seems to be the only added value a pimp gives. But that can be substituted for sure.
