Thank you for the update. Glad to hear someone is going to try to restart Campo. It's still one of my favorite places, with so many crazy, fun memories there.

I also have beautiful memories. I've been to Curacao 6 times always in January for a week. Great vacation: during the day the beach mainly Mambo beach and in the evening a visit to Campo (sun, sea, sand and. Sex! I think that if these entrepreneurs from the Netherlands are opening Campo again it can be much better because they have experience how to run this kind of business from Amsterdam and the Netherlands where prostitution is legal.

WILLEMSTAD. The police received a report yesterday afternoon about a suspicious situation at the Campo Alegre brothel. When a patrol arrived there, a vehicle immediately drove away.

This was followed by a chase that ended at a school in Seru Papay. Three men fled from the car and threw away a weapon. In the car, the police found several television sets that had been stolen from Campo Alegre.

WILLEMSTAD. Last week, the Council of Ministers (RvM) approved an inquiry into the role of Campo Alegre within the community to determine, among other things, whether the principle of 80 years after ago when the brother was opened, still applies.

Minister of Justice Quincy Girigorie announced this during a recent press conference. Campo was opened as a brothel in 1940 with a specific purpose; namely to regulate and centralize prostitution. Slight correction, Rectour Corporation is bankrupt. Rectour was the company (mis) managing Campo. One thing is for sure, there are already a few interested parties in taking over the facilities and working on a restart. It might take a few months but I'm sure the camp will be back running in less than the few years stated below.

I also think that Campo will be open. Curacao is associated with the administration in the Netherlands and the Dutch tolerate prostitution if it is legal and regulated. I am sure they do not want t on he island of Curacao the chaos of illegal and unregulated prostitution and related problems as it was on Curacao before the opening of Campo over 50 years ago.

Slight correction, Rectour Corporation is bankrupt. Rectour was the company (mis) managing Campo. One thing is for sure, there are already a few interested parties in taking over the facilities and working on a restart. It might take a few months but I'm sure the camp will be back running in less than the few years stated below.

Two other companies went to court on Tuesday to file for bankruptcy.

The judge agreed to that.

This includes a cleaning company that has not been paid since December.

There is also a tax debt of almost 7 million guilders.

Campo was founded 71 years ago on May 30,1949 by, among others, the Catholic Church.

Campo has been closed since March due to the corona crisis.

In addition to the 150 sex workers who work on a temporary basis.

84 people who are supporting staff are on the street.

I'm really saddened by this. I've had some wonderful memories, maybe they will re-open some day if they can avoid all the trouble.

I doubt it the place is bankrupt and out of business. They have mentioned auctioning it but even in that case the current situation in the world makes these kinds of services very difficult if not impossible it's over. In the best case scenario I would say it will take a few years for it to reopen.

WILLEMSTAD. If it is up to the employees of the Campo Alegre, the Public Prosecution Service, and the Government should confiscate the brothel from the current owners and designate it as a quarantine shelter.

Never say never fellas. In my years in SXM and Campo I have had 4 different women offer unprotected sex. Two were take-outs (one in Curacao and one in SXM) and there was no additional cost (I did not take them up on it at the time). Two were in Carolinas in the room. Only one wanted an extra $10. Did not take them up on it either. In none of these four instances did I bring up the topic.

I can't imagine what their possible motivations might be.

I guarantee some of these girls are raw dogging on occasion at Campo, because I was only there for a few nights, and had a Dominican try to put me in raw. I've probably had 6 or 7 ladies of the evening that have just tried to put it in raw over the years in different countries. Or get horny and just don't stop a second to roll on the dom. Blackmail later? They never have my number, so not sure how they could hustle me. I don't understand the reasoning either. But it definitely happens. I have a friend who does this on occasion, and even busts inside some of them. Pretty crazy.

If this young chap wants to roll the dice on raw dogging, I don't recommend asking beforehand at Campo. They are not "allowed" to, and will say no straight away. Come in looking and smelling clean and fresh. And look for someone a little wild. Maybe laughing hysterically at the bar or something. Get going on 69. Then just go for it. And have some propinas ready close by to seal the deal if necessary. I actually don't recommend raw. But try enough and it'll work if you want. Stay safe!

Women Campo brothel back home.

WILLEMSTAD -" A group of 22 women flew back to the Dominican Republic on Saturday.

They worked in the Campo Alegre brothel, which had to close its doors because of government corona measures. They could only leave after the intervention of the Dominican consulate. The consul arranged a charter to pick up the women.

Once the women arrived in the Dominican Republic they had to be quarantined in a special hotel as a measure against the coronavirus.

The number is 42 or 43 IIRC, Campo was closed when the restaurants and food delivery was stopped and remains closed at the moment. There are talks with the Colombian and Dominican government about repatriation flights, but as of yet still nothing concrete. There have been multiple deliveries of food and supplies for the ladies from the government. Life is restricted at the moment, but it looks like the measures taken here saved a lot of lives. WILLEMSTAD. Sex workers at Curaçao's tolerated and regulated "Campo Alegre" brothel called the police and expressed grievances to local authorities when they subsequently held a control there.

The 150-room prostitution camp near Hato airport is closed due to the current coronavirus threat. The foreign women brought in on six-month exotic dancer's permits complained about – among other things – not being allowed out and having to buy their own food from the restaurant inside.
