SXM is reopening business in phases similar to everywhere else in the world. I believe they are only allowing residents to return now and they must quarantine for 14 days. I'm heading back after summer when things should be somewhat "normal" again.

Well, now they have gone and done it. From the Daily Herald: "Not allowed to open are educational institutions (with the exception of classes that can be given remotely); nightclubs and dance establishments; adult entertainment centres; " I guess the chicas can say it is educational and can work remotely. Wonder if take out is still an option.

With over 200,000 cruise ship passengers and crew on island in the last 2 weeks, I think this is the tip of the iceberg.

They should have closed the port 2 weeks ago!!

St Maarten has imposed ban of people arriving from the States and Europe as of tomorrow for at least two weeks.

I guess it will probably be a lot longer than 2 weeks in reality.

I see the government today has banned all people who have been China, Iran, Japan, Italy, South Korea in last 14 days from entering the country. I expect the rest of Europe and USA will be added to that list in next 2 weeks at the rate this pandemic is spreading.

Gutted as was looking forward to my April trip.

I left the island on the 26th.last month. Carolina's had a nice lineup as usual, Capitain, at best 8's and not many chicas same at Defiance or whatever the name is now.
I don't plan on returning for at least a month possibly longer . Nonstop flight from JFK nonstop next week is 469 RT.
However with all 10's of thousands of tourists arriving daily, and the airlines, I am passing for a while. I am usually on island every 3 weeks


There are 2 cases reported on the French side, one of them took the ferry from St Barths to the Terminal and then was quarantined.
St Bartha, St Lucia, Martinique, Dominican Republic , and Guadeloupe all have reported cases.

I believe the Dutch side is under reporting.
