Wifey just left. Slapshot is a free man. I think I had this in my head the second I heard restrictions would be relaxed, starting tomorrow. I don't know. Maybe she did, too. It will be interesting to see how the upcoming changes affect the numbers. Positive thoughts towards the situation so the ISG cavalry can get back down here!

Colombian Food tends to be loaded with sugar and salt (and starch). Every bit if not more than that in the USA.

That said, I disagree with the poster criticizing the food in MDE. While you may not find any Michelin starred restaurants, there are some very solid options at ridiculously low prices. Provenza and Envigado are the best restaurant zones IMO. But I've had good restaurant experience all over the metro area.

In regards to Colombia food being saltier and sugarier than US food, that turns out to not be the case.

With salt, it's close. Average daily sodium intake in the US is 5.1 grams. For Colombia the average is 4.6 grams.

With sugar it's not anywhere close. 126.4 grams in the US compared to 36.4 grams in Colombia.

As a percentage of total dietary intake, Colombia consumes more carbohydrates than the US, 66% to 45%. However, the majority of carbohydrates, including all those starchy foods, in Colombia are from things like rice, beans, potatoes and yuca, along with fresh fruit. In the US most of the carbohydrates are sugars.

If you get away from Parque Lleras you'll find the food a lot less salty.

And if you're craving sweets, head to Salpijugos on Avenida Poblado in Envigado. They have some incredible fruit salads served with ice cream and whipped cream. They've also got some great entrees.

They're just about always in an industrial area. A good club needs a lot of square footage and no noise complaints. Back before Phoenix shut them all down, there was a great club there which pulled a decent crowd mid-week. My Phoenix girlfriend used to go and often take her friends, to play darts and dance on Wednesday nights. That was one of the nights when unaccompanied men were allowed in. She could dance all night, get flirted with by guys 15 years younger and not spend any money. That was an exception. Other than Friday and Saturday night, it's a waste of time.

Swinger's clubs don't really get hopping until 10:30 or later. There are always those who are there when the doors open, but the crowds come later. However, it's a good idea to get in before the crowds to get a good spot.

If you're going alone, to a club that allows single men, expect a sausage fest. There will likely be 10 guys for every woman. I understand that some Colombian clubs bring in hookers to accommodate the single men and the couples who are looking for a third. Medellin being what it is, there's no reason to go alone. Find yourself a bisexual exhibitionist to take.

I also understand that Colombian clubs make you change clothes. They have lockers and I think they require everyone to strip down to no more than underwear. Check with the club.

Every club I've been to followed the same routine. Light music early, there's a buffet or snack table, people starting to filter in. Around 9:30-10:00 music volume goes up, lots of dance music of the Rick James variety. Some time after 10:30, when the dance floor has filled, they'll play 3 slow songs in a row. That finishes with a lot of people heading to the back where the beds and couches are.

My strategy was always to take my girl to the back in the middle of the second slow song and we'd set up in a visible central location and start getting busy. At the end of the third song we'd be surrounded by other couples all watching us. We'd have a lot of options on who we wanted to join us.

In my experience, the party starts winding down between 2 and 3 am, although I've spent the entire night in several places.

So at this time, having a Passport from a Country with a low COVID rate will allow you to travel within certain countries that have established a safe corridor (no quarantine), which at this time include Luxembourg, Norway, Sweden. Slovakia, Austria, Czech Republic, Lativa, Lithuania, and Israel. I believe when Colombia opens back up they will have a list of which Countries will be allowed back in along with what the requirements are. So an example, somebody coming from a Country having a low COVID rate may require nothing to get into one of the Countries I mentioned, versus somebody from the USA requiring testing and being quarantined for 14 days. The Colombian government threw out a date of September 1 and have no idea at this moment what the exact requirements will be, and within the next three months they will figure it out, or extend the date. Again, unless your a spy with multiple Passports your likely going to be grounded and severely restricted to where you can go without being quarantined.
