I called Tanzania embassy in France. They ask only for yellow fever one. And its not sure because you come straight from Europe. Its usually necessary if you have been in a high risk country for more than 12 h. Here in France there is medicl center in which you can get vaccination without appointment for 70 eur.

Posts: 442Unfortunately my hopes are fading.
I'm finding it hard to get a yellow fever injection in time, I know you can get one there but I've read it takes at least a week to be effective.
Most of the other injections I need seem to take longer than a week to kick in too. From reading about online I probably need cholera, typhoid and hep a and most travel places you have to have an initial consultation appointment before they'll even give you an appointment for the injection.
Also cheapest flights are £750 for the next few months.
Wish I'd have had more time to prepare, going to see if I can get any injections tomorrow and give it one last try.

Which injections would you or anyone else class as essential?
Hopefully I'll be able to buy you a drink if I make it there, cheers.

£750 is almost double what I'm paying, book directly from Amsterdam then take a cheap flight there.

Posts: 442Just unexpectedly lost my job yesterday so need a holiday somewhere. I don't have to worry about the self quarantine upon return now.
Have seen flights from my local airport in UK to Dar via Amsterdam for £750 return and tempted to book it.
Only thing I'm afraid of is if I get there and the bars have closed and country gets locked down.
Can anyone guess the chances of this and how things are on the ground at the minute?
Also where are masks compulsory if anywhere? Lastly I know I need to apply for a visa to save me getting one on arrival, don't think I need a yellow fever shot but is it recommended? What other shots should I get and should I just buy the malaria tablets at home or over there.
Sorry for all the questions, I would really appreciate any help.
Thanks.

If Nairobi doesn't open by mid August which the first time I get reasonably priced flights to Dar and I don't have to self quarantine on my return to England for 14 days I'm going to head over there.
Hopefully some other members will be there during this time.

Pounds are also exchangeable for shillings if you opt to come with cash. They get a much better rate than dollars.

Posts: 442So do the ATMs there run out of cash there often? If so, is there any other way to get money or just keep trying different ones?
Is it possible to change English pound notes there?
Thanks for any help.
