It's a very sad situation for Brazil at the moment with the pandemic being in full force and killing so many Brazilians. I can't imagine anyone even considering going there now, looking at the situation. But also considering how fast he disease is spreading, beyond control like it seems, and if it goes on like this, the situation will be very different after some months. Cases and deaths will drop to low numbers, just like what happened in places which also has been seriously affected. That's what happed in Wuhan, North of Italy and New York City for example. If the spread of Corona goes on like it does now, Brazil might even reach herd immunity, or at least a degree of immunity within the population, that will slow down the pandemic very much. And especially in the regions that are most affected, like Sao Paulo and Rio for example. I think the situation will be very different, and better, as we will be getting closer to the summer in Brazil. If it will be good enough for tourists to want to come back remains to be seen. If a vaccine will be available like next year or so, I hope it will help the situation not only in Brazil but also in the rest of the world. Let's hope a vaccine will be available sometimes next year.

Many major airline executives are saying that covid-19 will cause major decline in tourism for the next 2 to 3 years. There are almost 25000 commercial planes in the world out of that nearly 70% or aprox 17000 planes are grounded and parked in storage now for the next year or two. Therefore I don't think all the Termas will be full of clients anytime soon as tourism is declined worldwide and it will remain like this at least until 2022 according to the experts. The study had been done based on Airlines, service hotels and rental car business forecasting. My major fear that due to decline in tourism, if Termas are unable to cover their expenses, they might shut down just like Barbarellas.

Gents,

I moved to Transamerica out in Barra (cost 2200/ month, nice 22nd floor view of the beach and barra), on advice of some mongers on this board. I understand Europe not allowing Americans. However, Mexico allows US citizens so no reason why Brazil should not do the same.

Solarium is reopening 8-Jul. They're also having some event on 10-Jul called "Night of Solidarity". New hours are 14 h to 22 h on Monday thru Friday and 16 h to 22 h on Saturdays.

It's a nice step in the right direction of getting back to "normal"!

A buddy of mine actually met and married a girl he met at Barbarellas believe it or not.

He's retired and they now live in a different city in Brazil.

She is a real sweetheart, and he was hooked from the moment he met her.

They've now been together for about 5 years, and though they have traveled thru Europe together he has no plans of bringing her to the USA to live.
