I would add that attempting a bribe at the airport, at this time, might be a long shot anyway.

When they're letting everyone in and you're trying to get them to overlook something, the agent at the kiosk probably has the authority to make the call.

However, if nobody is allowed in, I doubt if the guy directing everyone to the isolation area, where they have to wait until the next outbound flight, has the authority to let one guy in. It would be rather obvious.

You've (SJobs) got the money to try another approach. Figure out what you need to either set up a co-location office for your company in Medellin, or to buy a party penthouse in Medellin. Either one and you can qualify for visa which after 5 years you can turn into a resident visa.

Once you've got your plan on paper, go to a Colombian Consulate. Explain why you need a special travel permit (without mentioning 18 year old pussy) and mention you understand you'll probably have to pay extra for the permit, pay for extra testing and quarantine.

I would think that's something you would want anyway. There are probably a few people who are looking to sell the penthouses that have sat empty for the past 4 months. You're obviously dedicated to spending as much time as possible in Medellin. Getting a 1 year visa and renewing it every year eliminates the risk you'll exceed your 180 day annual limit and be denied entry.

And when you're not using the Penthouse, you can rent it to Slapshot.

Man, my guess is that you would have very high chance to end up in prison if you try to bribe. Colombia is not the same as 30 years ago. What's more, you are speaking about the immigration officers at a major international airport, not a lonely post in the jungle between Colombia and Peru. I am trying to imagine the scenery at Medellin immigration with a "gringo" hinting he can pay a big amount of money to be let in, the face of the officer, and the next steps of the adventure.
I hope you will not want to try to demonstrate I am wrong.
By the way, when countries open the borders, the last country to be allowed will be USA. It is totally out of control there, and unfortunately things will not improve in a short time, unless very tight measures will be taken there. My guess is that it will not happen before hospitals will go over capacity and more people will have to suffer lack of assistance. Reality comes to knock at the door even to those who build a virtual personal world.

    Questionnn.

Haven't checked the board much due to lock down. If I can't fly there why tease myself. I read the last 10 pages though. So I'll get on with it. Let's suppose Medellin rely opens up flights again in September. From what I'm reading all the bars and clubs will be closed still. As a tourist, that sucks! I have hundreds if chicas there but enjoy "finding" new ones in a relaxed drinking environment. Does that even go on anymore or is that shipped sailed until God knows when. Whats the new environment shaping up to be like upon flights opening? And the million dollar question, if Colombia will take a year to recover and its not worth the trip immediately, where do you think will be the next city or country to take the reigns. I'm not into Asian women or 18 hour+ flights. Coming from Ohio. Any recommendations baring an American lock down.

I can help clear this up. In March the love hotels remained open. There were fewer girls. See my posts from March for photos and descriptions of what went on. I have doubts about whether the genie can be put back in the bottle for two weeks in Centro. It's gotten to the point that there is no rhyme or reason to the revolving restrictions. Ley seca, quarantine, curfew, pico why cedula odd and even, pico why cedula two numbers per day, curfew three day holiday weekends, it's a political show based on nothing more than test result projections. This is a minor inconvenience for punters but girls and small business owners are going to suffer greatly during the next couple of weeks. Restaurant owners were making final preparations to participate in reopening trials. Many of them borrowed big to fund changes they had to make to comply with the Health Ministry's new rules. With no warning they are now under orders to change course and stick to take out and delivery only. Meanwhile they have to keep paying rent and salaries. It will make it hard for some of these businesses to survive.

Pharmacies, banks, and other essential businesses will be open. So with exception of the pharmacy near the Veracruz Church, I don't know what will happen regarding the Love hotels in the area.

If the "ground zero" area is closed, and the lock down is enforced, it will be slim pickings.

Sosua is a small town that you can walk everywhere and has 2 traffic lights on the main highway and has 32,015 posts here; while the capital and biggest city Santo Domingo has not even half as many posts.
Appreciate the insight. I just gave a quick glance on the DR thread and did a roughly comparison of the number of posts there. Good to know that it is night and day difference compare to Medellin. I have been to Costa Rica many times, I don't consider the mongering scene in Costa Rica anywhere near Medellin. I guess I will focus my energy on how to make it through that damn border if it doesn't open in September.

Spirit has daily flights between Ft. Lauderdale and Medellin beginning September 1. What is it that was cancelled for you and what information if any do you have about international flight authorization?

Airlines conduct document checks before they allow passengers to board international flights. Along with the normal passport and visa control, airlines will verify coronavirus nationality restriction.

I went to Santo Domingo quite a while back. A street hustle named Mikey latched on to me. He was OK. He did find me some chicas, including chicas who worked in stores on the walking street. But he also found me this girl who was from somewhere else in my DR and she arrived with her suitcase! The sad thing was that the hotel eventually kicked her out later that day, so I had to go get her suitcase from my room. I did not know it, but the suitcase was not latched. That suitcase flew open in my room. And when it did, I was shocked at how little it carried. It was pretty sad. Too bad, she was a nice, sweet flaca. I would have kept her longer if I could have.

Sosua is a nice little beach town, but it's well. Little. I think you'd find it very limited.

You really should step back and take a bigger look at the picture. If Colombia does open back up on September 1, I highly doubt people from the USA will be allowed in. Right now a USA Passport is pretty much useless for travel around the World. I could go on and on and on, on this one but will stay away from it.

As far as trying to bribe a Colombian immigration official, well you won't be having the opportunity to do so, and the thought of it is very foolish.
With all due respect, repeatedly describing how dire and hopeless the current situation is for Americans is also foolish. When I run my company, I always encourage my employees to think outside of the box when facing a difficult problem, in challenging times, an outranges idea is better than a sad depiction of how things cannot be done.

The way I see it, if I can make it to the border of Colombia, I have a chance of getting in, regardless how I get there. If the US flight is canceled but the Canadian flight is open, I will hop to Canada is a heart beat. If I can manage to get on a plane to Medellin that only carries Colombia nationals on 9/1, I will do it. I don't need a fake passport to do it, I just need to be in the same boarding terminal and observe if there is an opportunity to sneak in, it must to a direct flight though, so I might have to go to Florida first. If the first attempt at the airport didn't work, I will take notes and analyze the situation, it's up to me to create the solution.

Everyday there are a ton of people sneaking in and out of the border regardless of the virus or trump's wall. Factually, we know this is a problem that is easier than landing a man on mars or inventing the time machine. I'm sure people can think of a million ways how I can fail, but I only need a single working approach. The world is overflowing with discouraging news, a little creative thinking won't do us much harm.

Hmm. That's odd, I just brought my spirit ticket from the US to Medellin yesterday, the departure time is very early morning on 9/1. I don't give a shit about the cost of the ticket, they are so cheap right now, it's not even worth the trouble to ask for a refund if the flight gets canceled, I just want to get back to Medellin and never come back to this hell hole called California.

I love the DR. One of the beauties of traveling is that destinations are different. Brazil, Thailand, Tijuana, Cuba, etc. All have something different.

I have a flight to the USA in September to do some shopping and visit some family there. My flight hasn't been canceled yet, so we shall see. I'm not planning to leave Colombia unless I am guaranteed a return flight either a commercial flight or a humanitarian flight back home.
