Sounds like you have a plan, but begs a couple of questions, like how will you be getting out of the Country without a Passport, or will you figure that out when you get there. Also, how are you going to handle answering any questions if asked by immigration unless you speak Colombian Spanish.

I'm beginning to believe you have been pulling the wool over everyone's eye's (at least mine) with all these wacky ideas as how to get back to Medellin. That's good, I was in Colombia when obtaining my visa and they required it be sent to Bogota, so being able to renew in a Colombian consulate is good news, thanks for the info.

Yes. In Colombia, only in Bogota, except for extending the tourist visa, which can be handled at any immigration office. Outside of Colombia, at any Consulate or Embassy.

The only way I can think of you getting back to Medellin quickly short of everything to date mentioned is that you would have to assume the identity of either a Colombian Citizen or perhaps a Colombian resident somewhere in the world who can return on a humanitarian flight approved by Colombian immigration. Much love and respect but if a Colombian woman would even hint of payment terms of USD I would drop that ***** and run. I have been mongering in Medellin for 10 years now, living here for the past 3 years, and also have more than a decade traveling to other areas and cities of Colombia and during this, kid you not, one thousand situations maybe had a total of 3 quote me in USD.

LOL, the way you put it. I agreed with you, but want to add that, some of the inexperienced chicas, based on tutoring from their experienced sisters or just thinking it is cool may negotiate in USD. I think due to the smaller numerical value of USD, they may quote higher. Also, they probably won't get the exchange rate we get.

Being lazy and trying to avoid a discussion on the arbitrage of currencies (I am kidding), I just tell them, I don't have dollars, only pesos. That takes care of it. I just looked at the map. I think you can get to Quito and it is closer to Medellin than going thru Peru.
