The scene isn't a patch on the mid-2000's when lower Sukhumvit was full of genuinely attractive women, some of them part-timers, many new to the scene, looking to score a 1000 baht plus maybe a boyfriend / sponsor. There are no desperate young office girls or university students, not even fresh farm girls coming back to the scene. It's the same old not-too-desirable Thais who can't even imagine themselves doing any other job, mostly dregs with a few borderline acceptable ones thrown in. Thank you for touching on an aspect of the current conditions I have been wondering how to express here or whether to express it at all; the lingering buzzkill of saying No every day and night to ten times more needy ladies than I have time, money and ejaculate to help. And, as you point out, it isn't as though the overwhelming options in this perceived "Pecker Paradise" are hot young babes eager to satify our every sexual desire. No local infections here for over 2 months meaning if reliable no possibility of Covid 19 reemergence unless it comes from outside. Problem is the economy is in ICU with a less than promising prognosis. Reality check, they have no choice but to start to reopen and that is what is happening slowly but surely. Already businesses that depend on low cost migrant labor from adjoining countries are being accommodated by allowing thousands back in with what seems like less than strict testing and quarantine arrangements. Medical bubbles, film crews, elite card holders, work visa holders, those with family members and oddball military and diplomatic groups are either here or on their way. Plans are already in place for limited numbers of tourists from some Asian countries where the virus is contained. When they will get around to allowing visiting farangs back in is I feel still a ways off and only then with pretty restrictive conditions. That said once the rest of the world is opening up to tourists it's unlikely Thailand will stay closed.

As to the local mongering scene it's about as good as it can get. A trip Sunday night down Cowboy was embarrassing in how many hands were dragging me hither and thither. Visited half a dozen shops, Crazy horse was a bummer, usual irritating hustle from servers and the ladies and a less than attractive line up plus a 170 tab for a beer. Best was Baccara, 90 baht beers and some real cuties more than eager to show their love, 230 lady drinks and an asking price of 3000ST dropped without me asking to 2000 before I headed on. Ended up with a more seasoned but attractive 30 year old from Country Road. Others may disagree but for me I feel like a kid in a candy store just after I got my pocket money.
