Well, she might not be the same lady. But if she is, any charitable contribution you can make would no doubt be greatly appreciated, which was my reasoning in finally deciding to chat with her a bit longer, exchange Line info and consider taking her at all. Every time I passed by she looked so forlorn and her painfully sad lament about "no customer" seemed heartfelt and genuine.

But why would you want to reward a self-portrayed "desperate for customers" Thai hooker with an extra tip for being silly or lazy enough to refuse delivering a simple CIM finish BJ for hundreds of baht more, probably 2 1/2 times more than nearby younger and cuter girls get for delivering it many times a day without long-term health problems?

I pass through there fairly often to check out the scene and I have sat at 4 bars for a drink and to possibly take a girl. It can be quite lively for an hour or two some evenings.

So far I have only seen and met 3 girls I considered attractive enough to buy a drink for as prelude to possibly taking, each in different bars. And of those only one turned out to be genuinely available for barfine. For me, that is. Two were very cute, lobbied hard to get me to sit with them at their bar then clammed up and wondered away mentally and physically (to their cell phone, to the toilet, to another area of the complex, whatever) as soon as their drink hit the table. I never even bothered to ask about the barfine or discuss anything else about a session.

One, at the last bar directly on Soi 7 right before you get to Beer Garden, is still working there most evenings, still lobbying hard for me to sit, still hustling pointless Lady Drinks apparently. Another one just left the scene to get married. LOL. I see pics of her in a wedding gown on her Line Timeline.

A third one was very attentive and fun, the barfine was 500 baht I think and she delivered a very rewarding ST for 1,500 baht. Then she went kookoo emotionally and began pestering me multiple times every day to return to her bar to take her again. Way too nutty. When I pass by her bar now I try to limit it to a smile, wave and keep moving.

I am not one to make mental notes about exact costs unless they are a stand out in either direction. The barfine might have been 600 baht. I could not tell you exactly how much the LDs cost. But I know it was not so notably different on either count than normal. I mean, it wasn't 300 baht barfine and 90 baht for LDs vs 120 baht or anything like that.

I discovered a place on Soi Cowboy that has been mentioned before on the forum.

The place is called Penny Black. It's like right across Country Road bar at the beginning of the soi (Asok side). It seems to be the hotspot to go to for all the gogo dancers and freelancers after they finish their work in the bars. The place was packed with people around 2 am Saturday. The ratio was definitely more working ladies than the guys.

I found myself there after barfining one of the gogo girls on Soi Cowboy and I ended up partying there with her for some time.

I think this place is more for the partying crowd. The typical dance EDM / hip-hop music club vibe. If you're not into that type of scene, then you'll definitely not like this late-night club.

You could probably dance with a lady, negotiate pricing with the ladies, or I think it's even possible to get freebies there. I'll have to try to go there alone next time to see.

With the depressing quiet vibe that Soi Cowboy has nowadays, this was a change of scenery. A lot of people, lively, and everyone having a good time. Again, this was a Saturday. It could be less lively during weekdays.

The Bangkok scene is exceptional now because there are so few punters, and zero prospect of more coming in anytime soon. That makes the remaining women more desperate to snag a customer, and perhaps even perform well in hope of a repeat. At least it holds for those who are not too spaced out to think.

About a week ago I had a freelancer near Soi 19 for 500 baht, at her suggestion. I'm a stingy bastard but even I wouldn't dare offer under 1000 on Sukhumvit in order not to be offensive (in Pattaya it's ok). She wasn't a hag, a cute and clean 35 year old with no tattoos or fake anything, albeit on the plump side. Repeated a few days later too. At that price, and with good service, it's a no-brainer.

I think I finally agreed to take this same lady yesterday. If she is not the same lady you mentioned here, the lady I am talking about fits your description very well. When thinking about it the following cliches come to mind.

It all depends on how one looks at it.

I am don't fully agree, of course taxi, food market will not drop their price, but, landlord does, mine as personally drop of 20% my salary, electricity for most place is nearly free for last 3 months. Am not saying that is enough but what as mentioned before, what is better? No customers for 2-3 days? Or being reasonable asking less and having even just one per day? At the end that would bring roughly 24 kthb which is way more than the average salary, their room if alone (and many time they are not) is usually 3000/4000 thb and food as they only buy cooked food about 150 thb including their collagen drink from 7/11, means 4500 thb, so for about 8000 thb they have their roof and food. Electricity of course depend on the AC but now it cost nothing as government help on this, then phone is maybe 300 thb. So at the end taxi would be the big expense but now with grab a bike, from nana to On Nut that cost about 90 thb. So in 1 month I would say 10000 thb is the minimum they spend if no party and so on. So asking 1000 thb per guy would ensure more likely to make everyday money and pay enough for everything, but for sure they will not be able to save for the new Iphone that seems so important in their life. Just to finalize, those numbers I got them via a freelancer that I met quite often. After what I agree is they should be more open mind on what to do in bed, and for my case I always give a tip from 200 to 500 if she was great in bed. I don't say she has to say yes to everything to have the 500, if she doesn't want anal, fine, but the attitude and the way to say no will make the difference.

Right, their logic defies reason. One would think that a LT opp in a nice apartment or hotel with decent a-see beats standing on the street all night with so few customers to be had. What are the chances they will find two clients when even one is hard to come by? It may take some time for the reality to set in, which is there is no high season coming unless the Thai government drastically changes their M. O. In addition, by their kicking out the remaining remnants of the ex pat visa overstays by September 26, there goes another source of tourist spending. Really remarkable how they are shooting themselves in the foot.

At some point and probably soon, there is going to be a vast sea change in pricing and, I suspect, attitude. I look forward to continued excellent on ground reporting.

All the Sea change will be for the Worst. LOL.

Um. The Koreans and Japs are not showing up in droves. All the girls have left are Cheap Charlie's.
