Valid points. I should have added that I was talking about AC being more expensive than other domestic options. I note that a few previously travelling mongers in my country are now realizing that it's actually cheaper for them to stay and play at home.

It is indeed a shame that discount airfares and a multitude of new options for the girls have increased demand and driven down supply of girls across the board. Economics 101 tells what that has done to prices and quality of services generally. The Philippines certainly isn't alone there.

WRT the ABC, its marketed as an 'experience' and that's what it does very well. If a guy looks at the component parts then nothing is exceptional but as a whole it does it's intended purpose very well and charges accordingly. If all one wants is a clean bed for the night and a cold air con then give it a miss. Girls dancing around the stripper pole in your inroom bar while you are having a 4 some in the jacuzzi? Then the ABC is for you. 😁.

Yes the ABC hotel is a 3 star hotel (Maybe) trying to pass itself off has a 5 star hotel. I frankly think its a shithole. Its so dark in there for a reason so you can't see how filthy it really is. .

I find pretty much everything in AC overpriced once the quality of the goods received is factored in. The bar hopping party scene died years ago.

AC's only attraction to me is the concentration of services and the over the top nature of the place.

The best value for money that I have had was to be found out of town or in the provinces. But yes, it's not as point and shoot as walking into a bar full of single moms. 😁.

I have had many many province girls and they are good and they can be less expensive depending on you. I generally compensate them well. Also as you mentioned it takes work to get them. There is no real reason to raze fields Avenue buildings to build Casinos and KTV. Those can be built anywhere as they have done already. Their clients go there and fields Avenue caters to only select mongers who are looking for small bars, cheap drinks, reasonably cheap hotels, cheap girls, party atmosphere, cheap food, cheap massage and everything cheap. High end gamblers and KTV clients have their own supply of babydoll look girls Who command high prices.

Long time ago Bangkok also tried to close patpong, nana plaza trying to move it outside Bangkok city. Prostitution creates its own economy which supports a host of businesses. Even alternate venues are chosen to replicate fields Avenue it will fail.

Like you say, it is just a prediction out of left field. But let's say the future works out this way; then all the bars and honky tonks will move to Barrio Barretto which is a nice location if you ask me. I appreciate a sea breeze.

People thought the same thing about the foreigner sex scene in Rio de Janeiro. But they took that out without there even being a virus. Brazil still does not have a booming economy, and still has poor infrastructure and poverty. Fact is that these little sex bubbles that serve foreigners mean nothing to these countries; at least not as much as the foreigners that partake in them want to think they mean.
