I think many tourists are afraid to venture into Charamicos for safety reasons.

    Colmado is corner store.

    No, you're correct about that.

It's the barrio, not a place to monger but a place to see how the locals live their daily lives, dirt poor, but still able to party and enjoy life. Lots of sex going on all the time, but among locals, and free.

Cheap beer and wine and lots of paper cups for the locals who congregate. Domingo Sociale!

Except for the masks, it seems like business as usual there. Don't actually recall ever seeing a cop car up those crowded streets.

I have the same question. Contacted Alicia Beach Hotel and the lady said they are open. I like that hotel because of in front parking space for my rental car and decent rooms. They usually have free fixed breakfast. My plan is to go there in November because usual trips to Asia is put on hold because uncertainties. So are trips to Costa Rica, Panama etc. DR has no flight issues and at the moment apart from the curfews should be okay. Maybe be wifing up a girl for few days is a good idea. Problem is I need bunch of women to screen to wife up one. If the pickings are slim it would be hard. Although since I will have a car and have picked up nice girls from far away from Sosua those are hit and miss.

That's a pure bargain. The price is comparable to a shitty hotel room, only you really get to enjoy your place. Girls loved it.

Also stayed in a pool villa in a gated community (see my report from last year). No issue bringing girls discretely.

Fucking isn't everything. Sipping coffee or wine on a veranda while taking in these world-class views is worth something in my book. That affordable luxury (plus beaches, dining and proximity to NYC) is the main reason why I still keep coming to Sosua.

Is there any action in Sosua in the age of Covid?

But if you want something on the beach, or with a beach view, they tend to be multiples of that price. There's a few older properties clustered around Alicia beach and the town end of Sosua beach where you can get a room with a view, but they tend to be older properties, with spotty service and reviews. Be interesting to hear other posters experience.

The only decent place that has it all for me is Infiniti Blu, but with a premium on the oceanfront units.

And curfew means you have to be off the streets by the designated time, except for emergencies, (enforced) and things close down before that to give workers, and SW, time to get home before things close up!

Very pretty view! Do they have a one bedroom suite overlooking the ocean? There are a couple of buildings overlooking the ocean in front of playa Alicia but I have no contacts. I wonder if those too are for rentals.

It's a great place. 4 bedrooms on two open floors and sundecks with barbecue. Unfortunately I can't afford to live there, I'm in more modest digs in town, but I do get to stay there at least once a year. You need to book well in advance for oceanfront.

They do have standard condo units on the street side for around 100 a night, if I recall correctly.

When you sign in they have a strict guest policy, but how it is enforced is what matters. If you're cool they'll give you lots of leeway. My buddy always gets the 4 bedroom oceanfront penthouse suite, so they know what's going on.

We have had lots of chicas partying overnight, even one Venezuelan with no ID.

Sosua presents many faces to its visitors.

If you get to know how things work down there, it really is a pussy paradise.

    YMMV. LOL.
