Hey members, I am thinking of staying in puerto plata rather than sosua. My thinking is with the curfew and majority use of internet these days should not make a difference. Besides I can always explore sosua in evening and bring her back with me. In addition many girls come from puerto plata. Correct me if I am wrong. I have been to sosua many times. Trying something new. Stupid or can work? Explore tinder and its very active but of course i am still in the U.S.A.

The government just announced that the curfew is being extended but the hours have been reduced,9;00 pm start on weekdays and 7:00 on weekends, still sucks but I'll take it.

But safety aside, is there anything of a value for a tourist? Are there any watering holes with working girls in Charamicos?

Not really, the working girls mostly ply their trade in Sosua. They're "off duty" in CM.

For the families in CM or any other barrio, there's this weird moral thing about not crapping on your own doorstep. It makes you like bad in church on Sunday. LOL.

You need a local connection in CM to get anything there. Same with safety at night, you need to be with locals. I got 11 years with 2 families there, so I never think about it. I just like to hang out there for the street scene on Sundays, and the beach picnics down by the abandoned hotel.

Willingness has become a rare commodity in Sosua over the years. Don't expect it from a street FL, then you might be pleasantly surprised. But if you're trying to compare Sosua with, say, Colombia or Brazil, don't even!

You might get a totally different service from a non-pro or semi-pro if you have time to invest.

No, you're correct about that.

It's the barrio, not a place to monger but a place to see how the locals live their daily lives, dirt poor, but still able to party and enjoy life. Lots of sex going on all the time, but among locals, and free.

A little off the beaten track for the average monger, but Charamicos is a hidden gem. I spend just about every other Sunday there with old family friends, drinking jumbo Presidente on the street, across from the Colmado, loud music, and lots of hot chicas walking by and saying Hello. Cheap beer and wine and lots of paper cups for the locals who congregate. Domingo Sociale!

Except for the masks, it seems like business as usual there. Don't actually recall ever seeing a cop car up those crowded streets.

I'm going to make a quick jaunt of it, but I want to make sure I'm not wasting my time. Is it still possible to pick up women there in this age, during the curfew? Are there still bar girls to be had?

I have the same question. Contacted Alicia Beach Hotel and the lady said they are open. I like that hotel because of in front parking space for my rental car and decent rooms. They usually have free fixed breakfast. My plan is to go there in November because usual trips to Asia is put on hold because uncertainties. So are trips to Costa Rica, Panama etc. DR has no flight issues and at the moment apart from the curfews should be okay. Maybe be wifing up a girl for few days is a good idea. Problem is I need bunch of women to screen to wife up one. If the pickings are slim it would be hard. Although since I will have a car and have picked up nice girls from far away from Sosua those are hit and miss.

Buddy and I stayed at an amazing 2-story, penthouse in LOS Charamicos with a huge outdoor ocean-view terrace (2 of them actually). Cost about 150, but I'm seeing this condo for 75 now. That's a pure bargain. The price is comparable to a shitty hotel room, only you really get to enjoy your place. Girls loved it.

Also stayed in a pool villa in a gated community (see my report from last year). No issue bringing girls discretely.

Fucking isn't everything. Sipping coffee or wine on a veranda while taking in these world-class views is worth something in my book. That affordable luxury (plus beaches, dining and proximity to NYC) is the main reason why I still keep coming to Sosua.
