I am Asian as well and speak very basic Spanish. I was in cdmx a month ago. Outside of mongering, you will have no problem. People in cdmx are very friendly and honest. The most interaction I had with locals were at restaurants ordering food. If you know numbers in Spanish you will be ok. Most eateries have prices clearly stated.
