I forgot to mention that giving out a WhatsApp contact means giving an actual phone number. Once I have that in my contacts, my phone automatically searches for a live Viber account on the same number and may also recommend her as a FB Friend.

This may be more online status, profile pics, location and personal info than the girl wants to give out straight away.

1/ her phone plan gives cheap or even free access to a particular app. Common with FB Messenger.

2/ she's more familiar with one app and can't be bothered to learn another. Maybe all her friends use that app too.

3/ she's new at the game, has only one number and keeps one app for dirty old men and another for her social circle. She knows whether to answer or not just by seeing what app is calling or messaging.

4/ more maliciously, skype is easier for 3rd party oversights, video and speaker to be different etc.

My experience is different to DG. I'd put WhatsApp as the most popular for the girls we are chasing. I don't even worry about trying to find girls on other apps. I never seem to be able to find the correct Mary in Cebu from 1000 choices on FB. Give me a unique identifier or don't bother.

Skype is good for not giving out a phone number. I think it may be pretty heavy usage for them. I often give out a dud skype ID I use much like a spam filter. Giving out a phone number can be hell unless you block and repeat.

Looking at some tech sites, Viber seems to beat wattspap. But I use wattsapp every say and have not used viber in well over a year.

The love of your life may well have things compartmentalised for her own good reasons.

Concur. While foreigner ladies who move to the US retain much of their culture (food, language preferences, etc), they quickly Westernize.
