Totally agree. I know a chica who is well known to many on this board. She co-owns her little house with her mom. But she obviously has not legitimate job, she does not study, and she has no proof of any income. She, like many, used a visa service who lied for her. So the word Portero can mean 2 types of watchmen.

The last thing I want to do is book an apartment for 3 weeks and then have issues taking chicas back.

Is it possible that I can book an apartment where the owner confirms I'm allowed guests but a doorman becomes a gatekeeper and denies entry?

Most apartment buildings will have security controlling access, called porteros. Unless you're being a dick or causing problems, you have nothing to worry about.

The original poster seems disinclined to RTFF about this subject. A quick workaround is to rent a place in one of the punter clubhouses like San Peter and others. If that's not the preferred way then I recommend a quick search of Lugnut's posts during the May and June period. There are some helpful hints of what to do and what to avoid doing.

This has been covered in this thread in the past and the answer is yes! When you write the people in Airbnb or whichever app you use always ask their policy on visitors and the buildings policy on visitors. I haver heard many people say it can go against you either way. Sometimes the owner of the apartment does not want to be associated with prostitution even though the building has no rules against it, and sometimes the building has rules against it even though the owner might not mind. So I repeat: you need to message the renter using the Airbnb message service and ask about both the buildings policy on visitors and the apartment owners policy on visitors.
