I find it odd but according to figures from the Tourism Authority of Thailand more retirees entered Thailand in October than any other group of foreigners. 501 out of a total 1465 arrived on a long-stay (OA) retirement visa, Not sure from where or how they did it. By comparison, just 331 tourists entered Thailand using the Special Tourist Visa (STV). This is from Thaivisa.com where it's also suggested using Cambodia as a point of entry if you are prepared to spend a month or more there.

There are so many confusing articles and opinion for example ThaiiV articles about who can come in the probem you read the article it isn't clear for example you got the O-A so many people confuse it with the Non-Imm O Retirement Extension which I have you not need insurance but need to have a lump sum in the bank or monlthly deposit from oversea. The people responsding either close to dementia that the topic gets off course to a point you have no idea what the hell the original article was all about. And sadly that goes to the Thai Embassy themselves who can't seem to get on the same page.

People are tellling me I can get back in now with my Non-O but reading that might not be the case after a few lines they start talking about the O-A, for myself I married to a Thai but for reason of my own have nothing own in Thailand in my name regardless what method you use you still need to go through all the hoops and those hoops involved first get tested forward you request to the Thai Embassy to try to obtain a see. O. E. And that is the first step out of something like 10-12 items it is just crazy. It doesn't seem to matter if you want to come in on a medical, buy a condo, etc. You need to go through the hoops unless of course you are Chinese from the Mainline I guess I being Chinese American don't matter?
