The speed difference was that the authorities in the UK were taking in data as it became available. In the US the final approval authority wanted to wait until all data was available before starting. This why the FDA (or whoever is approval authority),is not meeting on this for another couple of days.

Personally I am thinking that the Oxford vaccine will be the one here. The logistics of maintaining the cold chain on it are a lot easier for a place like the Philippines.

Since better people from the better country will soon be able to benefit from a vaccine developed by Turkish immigrants and rebel colonists and be able to have a vaccine certificate to allow the better vaccinated people to fly on an airline founded by convict descendants to the land of better pussies. I'm in Sydney, but haven't had any problems. Sometimes photos can be a bit slow, but usually only the first one if there is a batch of them.

Yes. I don't have pic problems on this site. But for some time now (few weeks), page updates / refresh, clicking a new link, results in slow updates to the point of timeouts. In addition, the daily database error: "Nightly backup / 4:30-5 am UTC, please try again", I get that about 4-6 pm most days. But about once a week I get it multiple times per day. An example from today in the pics, I got the error message at 5 am and 10 am today (and will probably see it again around 4-6 pm this afternoon).

So here's a puzzle. I'm assuming that the Philippines government has not yet started giving out tourist visas. I have a friend in angeles who says her British fuck buddy just arrived in Angeles 4 days ago. So how did he do it? Did he just never leave and is just bullshitting my friend? Is he on some type of business visa? Are they letting in business visitors yet? Any theories?

He's on a diplomatic visa. Don't believe what your friend says. He's an eminent diplomat attached to the British Foreign Office. If I'm not mistaken, he's the dapper gentleman in the Saville Row three-piece suit, bowler hat and umbrella that goes for a walk along Fields Avenue on most afternoons.

He could have stayed.

He could be on one of the allowed visas, business, diplomatic SIRV, spousal.

I have heard that some limited tourists are allowed in, they have to go to an approved resort and only transit through Manila. Never seen any here but who knows.

My guess is that he stayed or he has a local spouse. (or kid).
