[Lost Refugee]

How one lives ones life in the US will impact on the enjoyment of living in the Philippines. Everyone knows that P4P in the US sucks big time. However, there are many other enjoyable things to be done back home. For example, one may like fine dining, going to clubs (hip hop, jazz or other), going to the theatre or concerts, going to museums, hitting clubs with buddies, visiting and hanging out with friends and family, etc. If one does all these things back home then living in the Philippines will get very boring fast. However, if one does not do these things and just stays in ones lodging working remotely while taking time out to go to the supermarket then living in the Philippines can be paradise.
Covid has actually got me to appreciate being home a bit more. I have been banging hookers albeit not as hot and not as cheap as in my mongering destinations but I have actually been able to save more money than if I was travelling. Actually, there is no other place Id rather be right now. Furthermore, having no access to my favorite girls in Latin America, Asia and Germany my local hookers are beginning to look better and better.

Philippines it's one of the best destination for catching fresh "fish" but the cultural life it's nowhere near to what I use to have in Europe and just exactly the same thing you're enjoying back to US. This could be a nice destination for 5-6 months a year, enough time to be more than a tourist and enjoy the pleasures like an expat. After a little bit more than one year living here, I do really appreciate more the cultural life I use to have back to Europe since here it almost doesn't exist. At the end of the day it's not just the endless pussy that makes us happy and be pleased in life!

This is very true. I've often said that Asia has basically no societal constraints. A white guy with a few bucks can and often does what ever he wants without restraint. This leads to his personality to become exaggerated when away from home:

The mildly annoying become total A-holes.

The guys that occasionally have a few too many rums litterally drink them selves to death.

Those that are quiet become overwhelmed and total recluses.

Those that lead a balanced life with numerous interests (not just there for the cheap pussy) have a great time for many years.

I'm not a recluse but an average person. Not yet an A-hole or at least not that anyone has called me that. Ok, a few girls I've thrown out for real bitches or scammers have called me that, so not sure if those count.

I like a few beers but not everyday, so guess I'm not yet an alcoholic.

I've spent time in Manila in the past but don't go anymore as I find the city to be just too chaotic and dirty. Traffic is shit along with most of the city.

After 3 weeks, its difficult to find something to do other than find ladies. So the balanced life in Manila is somewhat problematic for me.

So now, I spend most of my time in AC instead. Mostly the same as Manila as AC is also a shit hole in general.

Also ran out of things to do after 2-3 weeks other than finding ladies. So trying to find a balance life in AC is problematic too, but at least its at more affordable prices compare to Manila.

Buddy flies from Aus to Phils to visit his pinay in Cebu city. His plane lands early evening, and he has a connecting flight from NAIA to Cebu in the morning. He FB msgs his cebuana to tell the girl that he is at his hotel and all is well and he is going for a walk for dinner. He walks up the street to a resto / bar, sits at the bar and orders a beer and food. The resto is busy at that time with customers. Sipping his grog and waiting for his food, two former bar girls, who he had before, are walking out of the resto. They stop and chat the Aussie for a few minutes and move on. He is now alone again at the bar waiting for his food. Other patrons come and go. He gets a FB msg from his girl in Cebu city. She has sent a picture to him in PM. In the pic, he is sitting at the bar chatting to two young ladies. The pic must have been taken just a few moments ago. From the vantage point of the camera, our gent looks to his left at a now-empty table, where the pic must have been taken a few minutes ago. Previously there had been a pinoy group there, and they had just departed. Someone at that table took the Aussie's pic while he was chatting the ladies. Then that person FB msg'd that pic to the girl in Cebu. The girl, unhappy, sent the pic to the Aussie, with this msg: "Asshole how many GF do you have?" Hahaha. Soooooo private!

Boy, that's a long night.

I can't open this link in Australia but when I search "Gottlieb says vaccine strategy "not working" and USA Needs "to hit the reset" button" the name of the video I can see numerous similar article. Actually living in a high rise penthouse is the ultimate privacy. I live in one now in LA. Nobody can get to me unless I allow it. I would never be bored in this situation in PI, I can promise you that. Hoops and freelance CG art, visiting the various islands in my free time, still I think would be pretty damn good. But, I appreciate the counsel. I can see how getting blackmailed by the locals could be an issue. And perhaps I try it for a year or two and see how it goes. I still have many years to decide. But I'm going to have about 2 months of paid time off at the end of this year and I would really like to enjoy it in PI partying. Everyone get vaccinated please.

Well said, but I think you have to live the experience before understanding how routine, and ultimately fairly boring it can become. Living in a chocolate factory only stays a novelty for a short while.

It can be a great life but high rise penthouses also have no privacy and gossips as neighbors; sports every day, day after day, gets old fealty fast; travelling between idyllic islands also has hours of delays and cancelled flights; nubile 19 yos can soon become an endless stream of sick relatives, school fees and inane conversation.

I'm not trying to destroy your dream but it doesn't hurt to temper long term expectations.
