You need a negative Covid test to go to Colombia but it has to be PCR. To return, you just need a negative Covid test.

    It is confusing as hell.
An antigen test is good too. Entering Colombia you need a PCR entering USA an antigen test will suffice and doesn't go into effect until January 26. However this shit is in constant flux, not so much here but in Colombia they can change it on a dime. I'd recommend my brothers to get on a plane home now, in case you test positive you might be stuck somewhere for a long time.

USA sets new policy to require foreign travelers or returners to do covid test with doctor note within 3 days starting 1/26, that's why.

I am not there, but the lockdown has been extended and more neighborhoods have been quarantined.

    The infection rate

The "reported" cases in Bogota are 525,000 now. The city population is about 11 million. So the infection rate is about 5 percent. The rate maybe about triple- 15 percent, if unreported cases are roughly estimated. So, 1-2 out of 10 persons in Bogota are infected. If you contact 10 persons, you are likely to be contacting an infected person.

    Lockdown

My girl in Bogotá just told me "this weekend we will have strict quarantine again". I have not verified the information as I'm not there and doesn't affect me.

Go to Cartagena. This past weekend was nice and less restrictive that other major cities I. Colombia. No lockdown and the beaches are open.

All nations are affected by Covid. This is not a time for domestic or foreign travel. It is in your best interest to stay at home. Just wait for a year.

    Heading down.

At the airport heading down to Bogota now for 7 days then Barranquilla for 7 days. Will see what is truly going on there. Got my good list of non-pros and pros who are waiting. Most are telling me that there is no real issues. One of the non-pros will be meeting me at the airport.

    Check IATA site: https://www.iatatravelcentre.com/int...1580226297.htm.

Everything now is due to the malady. You need 72 hours PCR test for Brazil, and I consider the country to be less restrictive and hobby venues open, no quarantine. Cuba will quarantine you if you test positive on arrival. Mexico has a red-orange-yellow-green system and many restrictions per state.

If you're from the US, and disregard the health risk to you, then Brazil is your answer. As always, mine is only an opinion. Would like a trip too, but can't take a short trip because of the restrictions on a way back and a quarantine and emergency / curfew back home.
