I must admit I was there only once, but I felt the same way. The girls were not doable, the urine smell was overwhelming, the surroundings were beyond depressing, and I felt it wouldn't work out for me even if I found someone fuckable. Which I didn't. Still, I might've been unlucky and one should visit the place at least once. Maybe I'll try it again, but no way in hell would I fuck there. Takeout is the only option IMHO.

I think you may be incorrect here as to the source of the calls as there is no national quarantine order any such quarantine is handled at the local level. Least that is my read of this information page on the cdc website. If there some type of quarantine for travel after Brazil could you kindly post the source of that? More likely the calls were from some local health official and likely they are being targeted for being "foreign" looking. There are quarantine guidelines for all sorts of states and municipalities but no one is actively enforcing them.

My neighbors came back from Bangladesh last month and the CDC called them 3 times during the 2 week quarantine to make sure that they were home. I don't know what would have happened if they weren't home to answer the phone, but I wouldn't want to find out either.

Sperto is right, and I appreciate his detailed reports with maps, which I learned to be a RIo monger from in 2011, which was my 4th year coming to Rio and Brazil.

In fact, after my wingman and I left VM last night as I detailed in another report we walked up north on rua ceara, as can be seen on some of the maps I have screenshotted.

We walked towards rua Jose Eugenio, which is where that hostel I detailed in a report is located. THis route of walking north out of Rua Ceara, then left on Rua Jose Eugenio until the hostel has many many many very good quality street walkers (who if they find a client on the street, most in cars which pick them up, do not have to pay half of the money their pussy or ass or mouth makes to the casa in vila mimosa). Many of these street girls are "on their way" literally to VM, but stay on their feet for that extra 50% of their salary which is hard earned of course. Many of these girls are 18 or 19, live in caixis or zona norte, and 50% have at least one child, and 25% have no cell phone (which is why wolves can pick them off by getting their facebook or instagram). Life is nasty brutish and short in the jungle that is all of Brazil.

You can see that Hotel San Diego is a far walk but easy uber from VM. The advantage of Hotel San Diego is that it is literally half a block from Central station which has a hub for the supervia light rail to all of Rio and its outlying areas, like Campo Grande, where some of the best girls like Alexia Belucci / ingra of 4 x4 lived, and Central is a central point on all the Metro lines underground, and Central is a hub or rodoviaria for all the surface bus lines.

Yesterday, after the overnight with Nina Deponca, I took a uber back up to Caixis with her. She scored some tabacco substitute. I took a nice bus back to Rio centro, where I got a 20 reais haircut at Central, and reckoned into Hotel San Diego, on a back street, Rua Senador Pompeio. By going to these areas where few gringos go you realize that the amounts of money you pay are really very large amounts of money in Zona Norte. The best prices for all household essentials like very cheap but functional blue tooth speakers for the beach can be had for $35 reais -- the same speakers will be sold by the foot mobile vendor on Copa for two times that.

The other motels near Vila Mimosa can readily be seen. My favorite always is Malaga, which has the best ambiance with the excellent restaurant, Aconchega Carioca, just down the street.

If you are mongering at Vila Mimosa or the darkside (north of Av Getulio Vargas in centro), you need a love motel to go to (instead of the shit room at VM), you can go to Motel San Diego, which happens to be closest to the central transportation hub.

In the case of VM you also have Hotel Canario on Rua da Cear, very close to VM.

Is anybody returning to the US from Brazil required to quarantine for 14 days? It's required by the CDC but is it enforced?

I came back to the US from Brazil over a week and a half ago. No one's checked up on me or bothered me. Once you pass customs, it's smooth sailing.
