And south of that area, on the bridge called Ks. Tubun, at the bottom of Ekspats drawing.

On the bridge you will find many street walkers, sitting on bikes or stools. Most nights of the week (I often have to travel that way with work).

Closed in May due to underage girls.

Gradual covert reopening a few months later.

Officially closed and pulled down in Dec 2020 https://megapolitan.kompas.com/read/...-sita?page=all.

The link will direct you to the attached google street view image, address Jl. Rw. Bebek Selatan. I think you can find more info in this thread if you search for "Tugu Pekojan"or "Pekojan monument".

I've been there twice last time in Jakarta. Area is close to the train station. I thought I would just scout around for a quick recon. But I think all action was all gone. Nothing to indicate any action in this area. Dead except for a few shops and people walking about. I went at about 5-6 pm as it was getting dark. Didn't feel real safe there as I don't know the place well so I left. Could be action starts later at night but I didn't hang around to find out. Or perhaps this area has action now that Kalijodo is gone. Don't know for sure, anyone with recent recon can fill in with a quick report.
Note, the last time I was in Jakarta was about 3.5yrs ago so things might be very different now.

That was about the price for Kalijodo RLD before it was demolished by the Govt with bulldozers few years back. Except I don't remember having to pay extra for room, towels (as none was provided- few tissues was handed for clean up), condoms was charged if you didn't bring any. The pimp gave a price and it was all inclusive from what I remember.

Funny, I was never a big fan of Kalijodo but I miss it now that its gone and wish I had visited more when it was still there. Cheap and a lot of variety.

    Cheers.

Stay safe from the virus in Jakarta.

Are places open such as malls, restaurants, do people wear masks in public?
Yes malls and restaurants are open. For these 2 weeks though only until 7 pm but the hours have been normal for a while now. Everyone wears masks and in Jakarta you even need to wear them in your car even if you're by yourself.

I have heard of this place from several people but it's difficult to find, perhaps I will use a guide next time I am in Jakarta.

Not sure what is low-end prices though?

MyBar was remodeled and rebranded as MB Lounge, and Dee's Place was remodeled and rebranded as Ann's place (back room is still closed). Both have fewer customers than pre-covid, but have really been cleaned up and look a lot better. There were also some locals hanging out in front of Obama bar and another one a bit down the street, but I didn't bother to peek my head in.
