There is a picture of her on her Instagram account. It looks as if she passed away. I matched with her on Tinder once and started following her. I hope I misinterpreted. Otherwise RIP.

I am not going to get into the virus thing outside of pointing to the politics of it. South Korea was a unique case because of being hit with a SARS type virus before that led to thousands of deaths and billions in destruction so when people said they did a good job, and they did, it was their second go around and they were ready for it.
When I looked at the data with regards to Asia, the Americas, and Europe, I saw the Americas broke the typical pattern of the curve with Covid. I figured there were different strains in the Americas and there were. This was reported back in August: https://www.sciencedaily.com/release...0803105246.htm.
IMO it was buried because the media wanted Trump out. Call it a conspiracy theory if you want but the vaccine was announced 2 days after the election and the variants, which have been known about for months, just now are getting constant media play. Academics and universities are among the most liberal groups there are and if you find any pro-Trump guys among them let me know because I have never seen them.
If you look at the numbers, Trump was way out front pre-Covid then Covid hits and he loses. So a lot of groups had a vested interest in saying government policies worked or not.
I do not even care about Trump really. I was actually sick of him being the topic of every news show and conversation in the country but what I did care about was the notion that government policies were responsible for the spread of the virus.
So if you look at the worldometers page on Covid here, https://www.worldometers.info/coronavirus/.
You think you are getting really good data.
Look at the USA, Mexico, and Colombia right? You would conclude that those countries are doing great compared to the USA, but in reality, if you look at the % positive testing, you get 8% or so in the USA, 20% in Colombia, and 38% in Mexico, and that means Colombia and Mexico are doing a lot less testing. In some places in Colombia right now, the positive testing rate is 50% which is really fucking scary and IMO that is a better marker of how dangerous a place is than number of cases.
Then you have that people who are not tested. In the USA, there are estimates the cases are 4 X higher than reported: https://www.wrcbtv.com/story/4313074...-than-reported.
So the numbers people are looking at and making judgments based on are horribly flawed. No one really knows what countries were doing best with the virus and which ones were not.
My point is this Sang. You have variance in the virus, variance in testing, variance in the actual number of cases, variance in country's death rate based on age of the population and there are so many other variables in effect, the very nature of saying a government policy works or not is very hard to determine. You can cherry pick countries to rationalize any government policy.
But if you look at this table, the first thing listed is country. So even though these tables appear to be factual, this table and the John Hopkins map are designed to compare countries and to hammer home the fact that government policies more than anything else are causing the virus to spread or not, and that simply is not true.
IMO, and it is just an opinion, this country comparison was done to get Trump out of office, and it worked.

He claimed that the higher case load in Peru was due to a mutated strain. I called bullshit, because no mutated strain had been discovered in Peru. I never said there was no risk of mutation. I do believe that one of the arguments I made against just letting the virus run its course and rely on herd immunity was that such action increases the risk of a successful and worse mutation.
The rest, well anyone who has been to Colombia (and I suspect Peru as well) can attest to how "totally locked down" they were. My Facebook feed was every day full of videos of the girls partying in all the barrios. The guys who stayed in Medellin through the "totally locked down" period also reported no trouble getting girls, not only showing the girls were getting out easy enough, but the taxis were running as well.
It's like a stretch of road I drive down every week. Signs saying "Target Enforcement Area, Speeding and Distracted Driving. Zero Tolerance" but I've never gone down that road without seeing both. There's no way to enforce a total lockdown on a city of 4 million. The people of Colombia are about as law abiding as anywhere else, which means they ignore the laws that they can and obey the ones they must.
Of course I get credit for predicting the number of cases. But Elvirus constantly ridiculed every prediction and openly scoffed at the suggestion of 200 k US deaths.
His Fauci bullshit is my favorite part. I believe it was in March, 60 Minutes interviewed him and asked if everyone should be wearing masks. Keep in mind, at that time there was a shortage of PPE in the US. I'll paraphrase him. He said that people with symptoms, people who tested positive and people exposed should wear masks, but it wasn't necessary for everyone to mask up. At the time there were also only a few thousand known cases in the US. Once the mask shortage was overcome and the disease was known to be widespread, his recommendation was for everyone to mask up.
Unfortunately, some people must distort the truth to fit their agenda. So, Fauci's initial recommendation became "masks are completely useless" to a small group of morons I'll call the Elviri. I linked the entire 60 Minutes interview and wrote out Dr. Fauci's response, yet he still believes in his little fantasy.
I'm sure he'll keep rambling on and on without ever knowing what he's talking about. Perhaps that's his purpose in life.

Posts: 547They should do a study on Manila since it has the highest population density in the world at around 107,000 people per square mile. Average family is 7. They live on top of each other. Social distancing is impossible there. Never hear a thing about Manila and Covid. That place should be a super hot spot for Covid studies. Based on the scare mongering by fake news, half of Manila should be dead by now. Rather odd huh?

So they're are very few countries handling it well.

You think New York was a model state for Covid? Even though countries like Peru and Colombia totally locked down, and you and JJBee are like, "Better to save lives than money", they are among the worst countries with regards to Covid deaths. You STILL think travel bans, lockdowns, and quarantines work despite all the evidence to the contrary. You still want to grade governments on the number of virus cases versus looking at other causes like maybe they have not been hit or they were lucky by a weaker stain of the virus. Every time you guys said so and so country handled the crisis well, I said "Just you wait" and many of those great countries closed got hit by the virus a second time.
I give JJBee credit on his predictions with regards to cases. I was skeptical at first how contagious the virus really was early on because I had not personally seen that many cases.
JJBee's market predictions were horrible.
And then you Dems put Fauci up on a pedestal to bash Trump. I called Fauci flip flop months ago. First, it was no masks then one mask then two and now today he is back to one.
Paulie, I wish I was really as smart as you think that you are. If I was a chick, I would play into your arrogance and rob you blind.
