I don't think Makuti Hidden Restaurant is still there.

In Mtwapa there is also La Parisienne. Maybe 100 m past Merry Villas and on the other side of the road.

Pretty good food and good pizzas too. Not expensive. Owned by a Belgian guy and run by his Kenyan GF.

- where are ATMs in closed rooms (not out in the street)?
- where to get good rates exchanging money?

ATM in Mtwapa: Barclays, or whatever it's called now: you enter a small airconditioned room, with, most of the time a watch (wo) man around:

It is along the main road between Posta junction and Kenol Petrol station, near the small Tusky's (but I don't know if that one is still operating) , in between a fish shop (you will smell it) and a large shop where they sell things for ladies, just where there is a Safaricom shop with a tent outside.

Several ATM's on the outside of the City Mall, next to: "The Lounge" , in a covered area, security people are always sitting there.

Also in the Nyali Shopping Mall (Naivas) there are several banks with ATM's.

Most people change money in the shops next to the "New Cheers", you can ask them for their rates, but they don't want to tell you outside, where other people are around, so you have to go inside the shop.

When in Mtwapa and you don't want to go to Cheers you can change with the arab businessman just next to the Posta junction, where there are a lot of mattresses stored outside, but rate a bit lower.

For taxis you can use Uber or Bolt Kenya, the rates are almost equal, but can vary sometimes.

When you are a regular customer you can receive offers for reduction on fares, but only when you pay with credit card. (and the drivers are not fond of it).

When arrived at the airport and there is no Uber available, but you know their rate, you can probably find one of the other waiting taxis there for about the same rate.

Btw, I saw some errors on your map: Pa Pweza is now named Azul Margarita, but the location is correct , next to Big Tree . Kenyatta Public Beach is the same as Pirates Public Beach.

Thanks for all the contributions. I did another update to the file adding more detailed information to some places where girls are found (including maps to see how far they are from each other).

If you experienced another bar or club to be useful while hunting for girls please let me know.

I was thinking about what information could be useful in addition to that. Tell me what you think or suggest:

OK. I will have a look to get some names I. E. "Restaurant next to Fort Jesus" could maybe be "The Fort Seafood Restaurant and Pizzeria" at the roundabout.

The one at the entrance of Fort Jesus is Karibu Old Town Restaurant, the one at the water side is Forodhani Restaurant.

Medium priced: The Blue Room, well known, good mainly Indian style food, like Chicken Tika etc. Along the main Diga Road, corner with Haile Selassie Rd.

Restaurant next to Fort Jesus and some in the Old Town nearby.

At the other side of the Creek, past the New Nyali Bridge, both at the water side:

Several restaurants at the English Point complex, at the water, opposite Fort Jesus, like Cafe Arabika, for good Cappuccino etc. Also a Pizza restaurant there.

More near the bridge is the Tamarind Restaurant, supposed to be one of the best restaurants in Mombasa and thus quite expensive.

Yes the best way was fly from malindi. I been here few years ago also take girl with me from watamu and after both fly to lamu from malindi.Now they have direct flights from mombasa to lamu with skyward express .before they have few bars here and alcohol was served also have one floating bar in ocean couple hundred meters away from shore any local boat man can take you here. Some food stores sell alcohol too. Lamu was nice for couple of days after get bored. Its posible to get some girl even here but quality and selection will be low so better take girl with you.

There are two flights from Malindi to Lamu, I took morning fligth with fly540.com, flying at 10.40. That skywardexpress is cheaper, it flies at afternoon at 15 or 16 o'clock.

I haven't taken any flights back yet, let's see how long before I get bored. If we start to fight with girl I am planning to book a bus ride for her back and stay there alone.

Bus is much more cheaper, but I have read from newspaper that you need to have police escort for cars going between Malindi and Lamu. And in newspaper there was a story that bus passengers on one day had to wait for many hours for police escort to arrive.

Any recommendation where to take hotel from there. I guess just cheapest one from center?

Has someone visited Lamu recently from Mombasa? I have read that best way is to go to Malindi and take flight from there?

Any hotel to recommend? I am planning to travel with girl since I have impression that it is very islamic and religious place? So no girls, no drinking?

I am currently planning to make my first visit to Mombasa as soon as the COVID-situation calms down a bit. I started informing myself some weeks ago. ISG is a good source of information but you have to read ALOT as there are of course some discussions going as well. I usually prepare myself by summing up all useful information in a document (usually PDF) so I can open it on my mobilephone.

In Mwtapa, Greenwood and Zodiac are places to find girls.

Escape and Jumeirah are more like to go with your own girl.

Manyatta in Diani is the main place for night life and finding girls.

Two most important clubs from Mwtapa at the moment: Zodiac and Greenwood.

In Bamburi beach, Char Choma is now most favourite beach restaurant to eat, live music on Wednesday and Friday. Place to go with girl, not to look for girl.

Nyali: Escape club and Jumeirah.

Diani: Most important club at the moment: Manyatta.

Forty Thieves and Bidibady closed, Amigos and Nomads are beach bars to go at the moment.
