I tried that. The search options are not that great on this forum. Or perhaps this info isn't there. Try it and see what I mean. If you have some very odd ball word you want to look up, for example "Mabs", you might get good results. Love motel, hourly hotel, hourly hotel in Copacabana, etc no. So you can spend hours scrolling through pages hoping to find it if it's in here.

I keep planning and dreaming but have never yet taken the leap. Things come up. And when I do it, I want to get my money's worth. I'm not asking anybody to pay for my plane ticket, I'm not asking for your credit card info, but you can't spend three minutes to list a few hourly hotels?

The part of the guide that I cut and paste on the main forum about the interview process in termas for example is as relevant today as it was 8 years ago.

The other parts of that guide that I recall being on target are security and the mini relationships.

And when it comes to planning for a trip, it's that specific information that a monger needs first and foremost. That guide is almost a decade old! So much has changed in that time, and with the impact of COVID it isn't over yet. The guide loses significant value each and every year that the "specifics" in it aren't updated. It's like relying on a travel guide that hasn't been updated in a decade when visiting a country for the first time. Don't do it! Yes, there are some nuggets of advice in there, but that's greatly counterbalanced by the fact that so many valuable, specific details in it are very outdated. For example, in one of your cut and pastes, you included L'uomo as a major termas in Copacabana. All of us vets know that termas has been closed for years! If you're going to tout the guide, you should be more upfront about the serious weaknesses in it too given its age, and you should at least be careful not to spread misinformation as well, such as cutting and pasting specific information that is clearly out-of-date, with no note / explanation / correction.

All the stuff Bubba Boy wrote was true. For example, I've had one wingman last week take a girl home from a terma and then complain that she had a big see section scar when he got her home and wasn't so psyched about that experience. Another wingman 1.5 months ago took a girl upstairs from the boate in 4 x 4 only to find she had similar issues and he had already paid for a session and he just sat there and talked to her for like 300 reais.

As a PSA to we few, I have gone so far as to cut and paste Bubba Boy's guide. I concur with all his wisdom, with some notes of my own.

I also prefer the local places which are 1/4 the price of the tier 1 termas.

But most new battle buddies I meet from ISG want to go to the tier 1 places, which is fine with me, maybe once a week. Just know that for the 140 you pay for the entrada at MC or Solarium you could get laid twice at VM, which I don't mind if I get the girl over to a hotel like Malaga or the hostel I scouted out with Mandingoblack about a month ago.

The questions that Bubba Boy posts are solid, and should be used. I have modified mine a little:

1. Vc ten filhos? (if no, better, if yes, still OK, as sometimes the MILF is more motivated).

2. Onde vc mora? (I want a girl who lives close, but most don't live in Barra, some may live in Jacaparagua, because I end up ubering them to me).

3. Vc transa sem camisinha. Estou limpio (I want a girl who bareback, and I generally go for the 18-19 yo. The guy who sells the cases of beer at Copa posto 5 is the Italian brother of the bar tender at the pool bar at Transamerica; the towel person (its not clear if it's a he, a she, or a trans person) at 4 x4 that I have known forever, and who lives at Transamerica, and who now works at 65 knows me from all these places; the beverage sales guy at the pool at Transamerica knows the girls I bring over because he sells beer to them in zona norte. They and I know that the same product can be bought for 25% of the price at hundreds of local boates and I don't like being marked as a fool.

Anyway, read Bubba's excellent guide in good health.

Due to the exchange rate just going from strength to strength and inflation still over 10% per year (yes I know the official rate is 5%, but come on, government figures are just going from the absurd to the ridiculous) there are not many foreigners in Brazil, relatively speaking. Does this mean it is hurting for business? Well no, the locals are doing more and more business. The local Rio hotels and apartments are mostly full with Brazilians, and the clubs as well. Brazilian guys tend to be more tyre-kickers and ass-grabbers than your average gringo, hence still plenty of available / doable bundas (asses) around. I tend to find myself spending more and more time in the locals clubs than the tourist joints because you can find the same quality girls or better for 1/4 the price and it is of course more fun!

Termas: There are 3 major tier 1 Termas in Copacabana. Tier 1 being the most expensive: L'Uomo, Monte Carlo and Centaurus (its located in Ipanema but its on the border). About an are $ 25 cab ride south over to the beautiful Jardim Botanica (Botanical Gardens) area will see you at Solarium, which is virtually identical in price and atmosphere to the other Termas. It is slightly smaller though, but worth the trip if just to see the Lagoa (lagoon) and Statue of Christ in the distance at night. Spectacular! There are also a heap of Termas in centro ("center of the city" – about 8 kms or 5 miles north) area. Quatro por Quatro (4 x 4) is the biggest Termas in Rio and has 100+ girls at peak time, a sight to see. Centro Termas are about 40% cheaper than L'uomo and Monte Carlo, with the exception of Termas 65, which as of this update is just a little bit less. There are also a heap of smaller places in Centro that are 1/3 the cost of the big Copacabana places. There are also prives, which are like small brothels, and a bunch of other stuff. A Termas works like this: You get greeted by a receptionist at the entrance, they will speak English at the places mentioned above, some in Centro may not speak as much but you will get by. She will give you a key to a locker. You go in to the locker room and put everything in there and change into a robe that is provided. That's right a bath robe. You can elect to wear your Calvin Kliens under the robe or you can go commando and let your boys be free. Flip flops are provided for your feet. I have only heard of 1 thing ever being stolen out of the lockers, for the most part they are quite safe. You can have a shower and sauna etc. At any time; genuine non sexual massages are also available, but I have found them to be pretty average compared to what one would expect in the Asia, in my opinion the best place for a "normal" massage. They also have various razors, toothbrushes etc that you can use to make you look and smell your best, this of course being a relative term! When you want to interact with the girls you make you way up to the Boate (Pronounced: Bo-atch or Bo AR chi. Portuguese) (Boite is french – you see both spellings in Rio) which is the bar-club area. Be prepared for the size of the Boate, most people say that they are a lot smaller than they expect. It can be like a big lounge room with 50 - 100 people squashed into the one space. Of course half are wearing "fio dental" bikinis (dental floss), hence it isn't all that hard to get used to. The girls will be hanging around the bar looking to interact with you. The girls do not get paid to just hang around, they do not receive a commission on the drinks you consume; they only earn Reals (the local currency) when they take you to the room to do the deed (cabine – pronounced cab-eee-nee). There will be music playing and it is just like a normal bar. . . Although you are wearing a robe and all the girls are available If you wish to order a drink, and you will, the locker key number is like you credit card, you will be asked to show it and your bar tab will be credited towards it. No money changes hands when you are inside the Termass; you settle the bill at the end (unless you go to Centaurus where they want everything upfront). Do not lose your locker key! The portion of the bill that is for the girls has to be paid in cash!

Once you spot someone you like, just basically look in her direction and she will be on you: they look to engage in eye contact. If this does not work use a hand signal -- don't worry, once she knows you are interested she will be more than keen to sit next to you. You can play around with her for a while, there are generally 2 or 3 times as many girls as there are guys, although in peak times this may be reduced to 1:1, so generally you have time on your side. You will be treated like "a King"; one can punch well above one's weight division in Rio. She will laugh at your jokes, stroke your ego and maybe you inner thigh, and probably grab your dick and put her tongue down your throat within the Boate. They are not shy inside the Termas. After 30 minutes or so of fooling around you will probably be ready to "rumble. " During this time you should have asked her if she is prepared to do whatever kinky deviate act you desire. I will always kiss a girl before going to the cabine. This is important because if she does not use tongue it may indicate she has a boyfriend etc. And will not be overly passionate. I also always ask if she is going to provide BBBJ (Bare back blow job) – virtually every Termas girl will, if she says she doesn't, you might want to ditch her and grab another because it is not a good sign that she wants to please you. Also a good time to ask if she does anal. Rio is probably one of the best areas in the world to find greek. Maybe 50% of Termas girls will provide it and they do not ask extra cash for this, straight up, 75% will do it once you get to know them, and overcome them with your charm. She will often agree to do anal as a deal clincher, to get you into the room. If you are smart you can leverage this. A lot of girls will also do CIM (cum in mouth), think 75% once you get to know them, maybe 30% straight up. This is all part of the screening process and will cut your chances of getting a dud. Once you have decided she is the one you want to get to know better, decide on how long you want to spend in the cabine (room) and give her your locker key and she will take it with her to get prepared. 40 Minutes is the standard and I won't go longer unless it is a girl I know: not much point getting stuck with a dud for a longer time, although duds are not overly common. She will come back in about 5 minutes wearing lingerie or some other bedroom attire and whisk you away to one of the rooms, where you will do your best impression of a porn star and she will generally fuck like only a Rio girl can – and believe me they can! In really busy times, you may have to wait for a cabine to become available; this will give you another few minutes to fool around with the girl in the Boate before sexo (yes sexo=sex in Portuguese). I never mind the wait. After all I am on holiday, and it is not as if I have to rush to a business meeting. Waiting in the Boate, hanging with your friends and drinking is actually half the fun. . . Some would say it is more than half. After your interlude you can go back to the Boate and grab another one or just hang out (thank you lord for Vitamin V & see! It is not unusual to have the girl you have just fucked come back and chat to you, she wants the repeat business (and she may want you to pay for her drinks, haha). It is not unusual to spend 3 or 4 hours at a Termas just drinking and chatting with girls or fellow deviates. In any night, a busy girl will only see 2 or 3 clients maximum over an 8-hour period, unless it is Carnaval or another busy time, hence there is a lot of down time built into the equation for fooling around. Less busy girls will only do 1 a day, if they are lucky. These girls work 6 days a week and it is part of their social life, hence fooling around is fun for them to. Most fellow mongers are quite friendly within a Termas, I have had many a good conversation over a few beers, just remember if you speak to a fellow monger try to keep who you nailed at other Termas quiet in front of the other.

Girls, they are severe gossipers. If a girl asks you where your fellow monger has been over the last few days, the correct answer is I do not know. The girls inside are on a "need to know" basis, they do not need to know anything you or your buddies get up outsider the Termas.

One thing to note: if you intend to see the same girl more than once be prepared for her to consider you her boyfriend. You don't believe me? Just wait! She will often be way more intimate during subsequent encounters, perhaps doing things she doesn't normally do with one-time punters. I have often had new comers give me their virgin ass or try CIM for the very first time, you can tell these things. However the downside to this is she will be jealous as hell if you dare look at another girl within the Termas. She will also ask where you have been when you are not there etc. I kid you not; these Latin girls are very passionate. Some have a definite "Fatal Attraction bunny boiler. Stalker complex". You don't believe me? Just wait!

You cannot officially take a girl out of a Termas, but you can do deals with her to see you after the Termas closes or before it opens. Be discreet when hooking up with them, they can officially get sacked for seeing clients – although I have only heard of this being enforced a couple of times and I think it was due to politics rather than the actual act itself. Many will literally insist you take their number. I have had many a girl hangout with me for gratis after or before work, but then I had seen these girls a few times in the Termas and intended to see them again within the Termas and of course there has been some kind of connection there. They also like going out with Gringos because we can actually afford to take them to places the local guys either cannot afford or just won't take them to (and I don't mean ultra expensive places, just normal restaurants). The girl will only agree to see you after work if she feels comfortable with you, this will be based on your past behaviour within the Termas and the amigos you associate with. If you can get her to agree to take the day off from work she will be fined at least are $ 100 (up to are $ 500 at some Termas on some days) from the Termas so you will have to build this into the equation if you are negotiating on a purely price basis, which could be up to are $ 150-are $ 400+ her fine (think are $ 200 as a good number). Its better to just hook up with them on their days off or outside work hours. For girls at Centaurus allow for higher figures – they tend to have it driven into them that they are worth more than other Termas, which of course is not the case.

To work in a Termas, a girl has to agree to work 5 or 6 shifts in the week, so you may get her to play with you on a night off; surprisingly I have found they are almost always available to fool around on their day off unless they have children etc. Some of course, never see any clients out of the Termas; however this is the minority. Generally speaking, Termas girls are a lot more stable than girls you will meet at clubs etc. , this will mean they are much less likely to take shit out of your room or generally cause problems. Never drop your guard though. I always lock my passport etc in the safe, and lock what won't fit in there in a suitcase (she won't be able to carry the whole case out of the joint without someone noticing). Yes it is true that she could cut the lock or the zipper, but generally most thefts I have heard of have been ones of opportunity; cameras and phones left on tables are most likely to disappear.

In general I love the Termas, they are my favourite part of Rio. The girls tend to be better sexual performers in a Termas than any other venue, perhaps in the world.

The screening process: It is very important to get a good feeling with a girl. I always ask the following questions and listen to the response. I ask the questions with a smile and try to make her laugh a bit; if she thinks you are fun she will usually reciprocate.

My questions:

1) Are you good in bed? She will of course say she is the best. This is the icebreaker, a chance for her to relax and loosen up.

2) Why are you the best? What do you do? This is a more serious question, hopefully she will offer up exactly what she will be like in the sack. I will let her answer a bit, and if she doesn't offer up what I want to hear I will then directly ask.

3) Do you do everything? Again I will let her speak and watch very carefully for the response. If she says she does do anal, I will then ask if she likes it and carefully watch for her answer, if she says she really likes it and smiles, well then I am thinking you are going to have a good time.

The above 3 questions will give her a chance to tell you what she likes and what she doesn't like. I don't mind buying an "expensive drink" for a girl, I can afford it. I just don't like the idea of being taken for a mug. I am reading "Getting laid in Rio"*Kindle Edition by*Joe Smith*Publication date:*July 26,2012.

He writes that Solarium termas costs about $250 to $300 US total, which consists of $150 for the girl (one hour), $60 for the room and $60 for the entrance fee.

The book implies that this is typical for a Rio termas.

Is this a typo? Should this be Brazilian reals not US dollars?
