Liquor ban in AC was rescinded May 1st. However, bars are only allowed to open if they are "resto-bars" (i.e. Serve food). Thus the majority of the bars on Walking Street are still closed. AC is still a non-entity in terms of nightlife.

Subic / Barretto is much more lively, with almost all bars open, no liquor ban, dancers, bar fines as normal, etc. Some of the AC girls even moved as an entire bar to another bar in Subic (all of the Q Bar girls in AC went to Thumbstar in Barretto until the bars reopen in AC). Midnight curfew in Barretto but bars open much earlier (between 2-4 pm) and you're ready to go back by then anyway usually. Mask / face shield required outside, but in the bar you can take them off and there's no real "social distancing" inside unless the Pulis comes by.

If you're driving, no real checkpoints between AC / Subic on the SCTEX. Sometimes the SBMA guards might ask you where you are going / where you're coming from, but I haven't had any issues. Not sure if it's more strict if you go by bus.

They are just the top end of the IQ scale, Avg IQ for phils is about 85 which is below the world avg and that is propped up by the OFWs of which you speak. So when you remove the OFWs from the general population and ship them overseas the over all IQ of your avg bar girl with a less than high school education would sit in the mid 60's at best. From what I can gather the world police will not allow certain countries to open back up or allow its citizens to travel to other countries if these countries do not have adequate access to vaccine. The WHO is now discussing and defining the criteria and ethics involved in opening back up and allowing western countries to run free. One of their main criteria for it to be ethically sound to open back up is access to the vaccine.

I am sure that's the case, and currently, the Philippines has about 3 million doses of the vaccine (Sinovac and AstraZeneca) but needs about 180 million doses to fully vaccinate the population to herd immunity; however, the people don't trust those vaccines. I am sure they would want the two blue ribbon vaccines that most Americans are taking. I saw on FB that YTubber Wil Dasovich is vlogging about going back the San Francissco to get his two Moderna doses.

Who knows when the Phils will reopen, but it will probably be later than sooner. My guess is sometime in 2023.

How did you gather this and who is the world police? INTERPOL?

The information I gather is sentiment that coincides with investment opportunity's I watch these extremely dry briefings from ASEAN, WHO, UNESCO, ect. Don't take what I say as law just one old guys opinion and may be swayed by the direction I want my investments to go. We may be opening up mid year like the travel industry anticipates but to which destinations? I suspect they will not be destinations with a population with low over all vaccination percentages and an ongoing raging outbreak. So these counties do need to hit some kind of magic metric before reopening. I think we will see countries with varying policies hopefully the Philippines will be on that less restrictive list. I originally assumed wrongly that the Philippines would be less restrictive as a whole, hard to see the future in this case but things change very rapidly.
