On check-in you can pay in US $ or pesos as the exchange rate is similar. On check-out they mark it up 2-4 p / so if you have a huge tab, paying in pesos can save you some. Paying chias or outside of BB, pay in pesos. Best place to exchange is just inside the gate of Costambar at Jenny's. I would have BB arrange transport, easier & you pay them on check-in. There are 2 shifts, first one 11 AM to 5 PM with about 6-10 chicas. Second shift is 5 PM til about 10 PM with from 20-25 chicas. Mamasans will check with everyone before they let everyone go at night. Lots of restaurants all around Costambar and there is a nearby beach with several beach restaurants. The A rooms, be-3, and I think a couple more on see & the have 2 bedrooms which are separate with doors. The sitting area / bar is between the bedrooms as you walk into the room initially. The internet usually works well there. If not, just take your work downstairs by the bar or restaurant, works well there. Hope that helps. Your recommendation about the taxi makes perfect sense and will be followed. A few other things:

1. In Sosua, a few Blackbeard's veterans strongly suggested not running a tab, so that advice will be followed as well.

2. Do you know if Blackbeard's allows you to bring some food items into the rooms for snacks? Some hotels don't want outside snacks, water, etc. I don't drink alcohol so that won't be an issue.

3. Is it easy to walk around in the gated community or should one have some sort of transportation? Someone earlier said Jenny's rents golf carts.

4. Will the lack of Spanish ability negatively impact the trip? In Sosua it's hit or miss with many not speaking English. There is always google translate.

I have traveled to Sosua seven times since 2018 but selected Blackbeard's for this June. The Sosua crowd is livelier, some of the girls recently demand outrageous prices, drama has increased, etc. Thus Blackbeard's seemed a logical choice, but I have a few questions.

1. Do Blackbeard's guests pay in US dollars or DR pesos at Blacbeard's itself?

2. Do you recommend having Blackbeard's arrange transportation from STI and just paying the taxi mafia prices to get there? (The aircraft arrives about noon).

3. What is the "schedule" at Blackbeard's?

4. Are there things to do near Blackbeard's other than the obvious?

5. Are the rooms with more than one room simply adjoining bedrooms? Some of the advertisements say some rooms have bars and sitting areas, etc and two rooms, but it's not clear if the sitting areas and bars are in a separate area than the bedrooms.

6. Does the internet work there? (I bring work).

They prefer the pesos, go to Jennys market when you first enter costumbar, arrange the travel with Blackbeards when you make reservation, the taxi mafia is real there, attempting to get ubers maybe difficult. There are 2 shifts of girls a day crew a night crew, about 8 - 16 on each shift. Depending on the time of year, right now all rooms have been booked lately. So a lot more girls, there is a beach near by. There are different type rooms some penthouse type or double deluxe type. I go to bb, 4- 6 times a year. Safe, consistent. Quiet.

Jenny's Market has golf carts for rent. A real game changer in Costombar. I'll be it not all the restaurants in Costombar are open because of covid right not, but that can't last forever.

Rental is $15 usd a day. Message me for contact info. They rent out quickly so, call well in advance.

Also, you can park it at Jenny's and call an Uber to pick you up at the front gates. The taxi mafia will not let them pick you up inside Costombar.

Don't bother to change money before you go or at the airport. Tell the driver you need to stop at Yenny's. It is immediately on the right as you enter Costambar. Yenny's always has good rates. You have to go to the back to change the money--just say "cambio" when you arrive.

Also, get provisions at Jenny's.

I have not been there in a while so I can't answer about Covid but once the Chicas are drinking I don't think you can make them stop from dancing. Blackbeards is not a club. However, some nights upstairs at the Parrot Bar they have some theme where the girls dress in certain colors etc.

I don't get the "happy hour" at Blackbeards. It is 5 pm, happy hour, 6 pm etc. And I do not believe there is any difference in price, service lece etc.

Sometimes the girls want you to make "appointments". Do so if you want but remember when they show up for the appointment, you need to pay regardless of how you feel. So I never booked "appointments".

Just relax when you are there and ask the other guests questions. It's a good spot and great fun.
