Just returned from another week in Sao Paulo.
I stayed in Itaim Bibi, Transamerica Classic Victoria hotel. I ad ladies visit me at the hotel and they did need to sign in but during my late night rendezvous the gut working the desk would just wink and let her go up when I met them in the lobby. I made sure to tip him well when I left. Location was great for some really good food options in walking distance. Modern Momma Osteria is a great place for Italian food. No reservations but the vibe is good inside and out a lot of attractive girls waiting to get in and its great for couples or a date night. That 4 block radius has a Soho, NYC vibe at night IMO. While waiting for my table at Modern I went a good 5 minutes forgetting that I'm still in Brazil but I snapped out of that real quick.
Bradesco bank, Carrefour, supermarkets, 2 gelato places, and other hotels all really clumped together in a nice neighborhood with little boutiques for shopping etc. My favorite area that I have stayed in so far.
Private55 browsing and I decided to zap Camila to see if she was available. Beach blonde from Rio staying in Jardins but I asked her to come to me. I told her to come casual and she sure did LOL. Sneakers, no makeup and a denim romper and as soon as she walked in she tackled me. Half because she was cold and half because during the zap back and forth we were trading memes before she arrived. I always ty to break the ice with meme's with the younger ones. She is a talker though so I had to keep the agenda on track in certain spots to get her to stop talking at times LOL but even then talking with her was really fun and she speaks a little English.
After some small talk about music and we play danced a little and then proceeded to the bedroom. She definitely aims to please but I could tell she needs to be comfortable first. Beautiful naked tanned body with no enhancements from yoga and beach life. Physically she gives as much as she takes so the sex was amazing. She stayed for two hours and we grabbed lunch after.
She didn't get any of the point break references of course. Before her time LOL.

I've written plenty on the sessions I had, so in this post, I'll share my experience on planning the trip and the overall expenses. The people are some of the friendliest (been to Korea, Japan, Mexico, Canada, Thailand, and Vietnam). I thought I'd see machismo and even racism (because it's so common in the US), but I hardly noticed it. At the very least, learn these two phrases: Obrigado (thank you) and Desculpa (I'm sorry, or excuse me).
Flights
RT from LAX to SP was $534.50 on United, purchased for 42,758 chase rewards points. Chase also gave me 10% off on my hotel booking because I bought the plane ticket with points. The flight to and from SP via United was VERY pleasant. To SP, flight was about 35% capacity. I had a 3 seat window row all to myself for 10 hrs. On the way back, I had a 2 seat window row to myself for 9 hrs.
RT from SP to Rio was $40 airfare and $12 checked bag each way (which I didn't really need) for a total of $64. Plan on booking at least 3 weeks in advance for the best rates. $50 RT seems to be the regular price. For domestic flights, plan on getting to the airport about 1 to 1. 5 hrs in advance in case of language barriers, getting lost, security check, etc. I have this strange anxiety and stress until I pass security checks.
Cash Exchange
You probably won't need cash right away (unless you're taking a taxi, which everyone discourages). If you DO want to exchange it at the airport for a little peace of mind, be prepared to lose 25% value on your conversion rate.
Hotels
Bourbon Convention Ibirapuera Hotel
$38 a night after fees in a Double Deluxe Executive suite. Bourbon Convention Ibirapuera Hotel was SUPER convenient. Highly recommended for first time visitors. Internet speed was decent: 35 Mbps down, 10 Mbps up. Sound proofing was the best out of the 3 hotels I stayed in (Astoria in Rio, Tsue Palace in SP). It's within walking distance from 6 clinicas and club and next to the Ibirapuera mall. Ibirapuera mall has lots of shops, including 3 drug stores (you can get a PCR or antigen test on the 2nd floor: Drogaria Sao Paulo) and a currency exchange shop on the 3rd floor next to Itau bank. VIVO phone store (along with an English speaking manager) are also on the 3rd floor.
Astoria Palace (Copacabana)
$50 per night after fees. This hotel is in a very convenient location. It has the Copacabana club, MAB's, and Dolce Vita all within walking distance. Internet speed was slightly lower than Bourbon's. Breakfast was included, and I enjoyed it 2 days out of 4. They serve coffee, juices, fruits, yogurt, cereal, pastries (including the cheese bread), sausages, scrambled eggs, and quiche.
But you can tell the hotel's pretty old. Rooms are very small. It had an old mildew smell when I walked in. And the worst thing was the noise. At first, I was on the 6th floor and I could hear all the noise from the restaurants outside until about 12-1 AM. The next day, I told them about the noise and they moved me to the 13th floor (top most floor of the hotel rooms). Great, friendly service. But, now I could hear the elevator clanking every time it moved. It sounded like gym weights slamming against each other, until 1 AM-2 AM. One inconvenience was trying to find a market close by.
Tsue Palace Hotel
$40 per night. Found this place via AirBnb and just a few blocks away from the Bourbon hotel. It was nice and cozy. It has a a separated bedroom and living room, as well as a balcony. Internet was SUPER slow, 2 Mbps down and. 5 up. I asked the front desk what's up, and they told me that if I book via the hotel, the speed's faster (guess the hotel managed rooms are closer to the access point). Walls are very thin. I think they just don't have the insulation that blocks out noise. Instead, the walls are concrete and carry noise very well.
Lots of WGs seem to live here. Monthly rent is about R4000. I believe this includes housekeeping, internet, and utilities. Another ISGer told me he saw lots of WGs walking in and out as he sat in the lobby, when he stayed at Tsue Palace for a month. And as I was having dinner on my last day in SP at the restaurant next door (Terra Fruta), that buddy and I saw a very cute girl at another table. He asked her to join us for a bit. Turns out she also lived at Tsue Palace and told us she'll be headed to Scandallo after dinner. As I'm interested in short term leases, I asked her how much the rent is and she says R4100 per mo. I also verified later with the receptionist, who told me R4080 per mo.
Phone
You won't be able to get a new line at the airport, unless you have a CPF number. I had to go to the Ibirapuera mall, 3rd floor. VIVO for $10/ mo with 5 GB data. But my data wasn't available for 2 days. This is a major inconvenience since almost everything you need to do is with data (eg. Uber, google translate, scanning QR code and online menus). You can use Google translate offline mode. But it's easier to have the app automatically transcribe AND translate for you, without needing to type everything in (can you imagine asking someone to type in their answers for you on your phone? Some members have suggested Google Fi. But Google Fi service was not as good as Verizon for me in the US. Also, VIVO's equivalent plan from Google Fi would cost me $70 ($20 base + $50 for 5 GB data) vs VIVO's $10. Data recharge on VIVO is also relatively cheap. Anyways, once you get over the initial inconvenience, it works great.
Uber
Cost me $114 for 2 weeks. The most expensive trips were to the international airport ($10-$25) and Connection ($6-8) each way. Make sure you keep the windows rolled down and wear a mask inside UBER. Before you book your ride, there's an "agreement" clause in the app saying that you'll keep the window open (whenever possible) and you'll wear a mask. Drivers will rate you poorly if you don't.
Food
If you're eating in a restaurant every day, it'll probably cost you about $10-$20 per meal. $20 would be splurging. I found most of the food to be ok, nothing spectacular. Unfortunately, I don't think I tried any ethnic Brazilian foods this time.

I think you started your experience right, at Connection. They have the hottest selections. And if you're only there for a week, you're not going to have time to filter out for the best deals, anyways. From what I've read here, 700-800 R / HR at Scandallo doesn't sound bad for a short time visitor.
Don't forget to check out the clinicas, too! There are about 6 within walking distance of each other in Moema: Prime, Abbobora, Mirunas, Enjoy, 57 House Friend's Club, and Carinas (sorted by my preference). It might take about an HR to visit each one by foot. Staff changes each day, and some of the popular ones might be busy when you visit. So it's worth repeating even if you don't find someone attractive on a given day.

Posts: 154The better part of valor
REALLY wanted to get a report for you guys tonight but the day just got away from me and I can't muster up the oompf to go out there and get laid. Man I even got dressed, threw on some cologne and everything LOL! I think part of it is that I don't want to be out too late here. Something about standing out in the cold in the empty street waiting for an uber just doesn't do it for me. Hell, half the restaurants are closed by 7 pm. I know its a reason but its no excuse when club Bahamas is open 24 h and is only 7 min ride away from where I stay.
No worries. I'll get started bright and early tomorrow and try to get 2 in somehow! Does anybody have the 411 on club Bahamas? I searched the forum to no avail, their website makes them seem pretty legit.

well its too late to try abboboras or a prive. im not sure how to get into the prives either, not sure how safe it is to be standing outside trying to buzz a number im unsure of and talk to someone who doesnt understand me through a speaker while the omnipresent ne'er-do-wells spy on... and close in. ill try one later, during the day.
for tonight i guess i'll go to scandellos and pop the SP cherry. its saturday night, this is the worst time to go to a club atmosphere, but the trip cant be any more discouraging than it already is. man i really miss the rio way, those termas are the best.

Squid, not sure if she's still available as I only see her promoting her OF page on her twitter account now.
