    Atunes reopened

I read that Atunes reopened on June 28 after being closed for 15 months. Does anyone here know how much it costs to buy a non-alcoholic drink there like water or orange juice?

Why do all focus on Santa Fe? There are thousands of options in Bogota and you seem all to focus on the shithole of the city. I don't Get it.

When you go up to higher altitude levels, the amount of 2,3 BPG goes up very quickly. Higher 2,3 BPG cause a red blood cell to have a decreased affinity for oxygen which sounds like you have less oxygen but that is not correct. With more 2,3 BPG, you have more available oxygen to use as it is not stuck to the red blood cell.

The amount of 2,3 BPG can vary a lot from person to person as there are conditions that can cause less or more of it. Higher thyroid for example means more 2,3 BPG and lower thyroid means lower levels.

Given that you can go hiking so quickly at Monserrate, it suggests to me you form high levels of 2,3 BPG very quickly and your cells have more oxygen available to them than the average person. Then you can to a lower altitude, you have lower levels of 2,3 BPG and have much less free oxygen running around which could cause fatigue.

Overweight people have higher levels of 2,3 BPG so it will be interesting to see if your weight loss has an effect. It might be worth having your doctor check your thyroid too.

I think I have a more normal response with my 2,3 BPG levels because when I have gone from Bogota to a city with a lower altitude I immediately feel better. It is interesting though that one of the reason Colombianas may be thinner than women in other countries is that you burn more calories at a higher altitude and there is going to be a different effect when you eat carbohydrates high up as well. There is a really good chance that people have less carb craving at higher altitudes because the carbs do not make you feel as good as at lower altitudes.
I climbed Monserrate with relative ease in the rain, despite falling on my ass once near the top, it wasn't so bad, considering the rain and how steep it is.

Fast forward to MDE and I felt more lethargic, my breathing felt shallow in BOG but my energy was fine.

My breathing improved once in MDE but my energy seemed to decline, can you opine on the drug Tallman just posted about?

You would think the difficult times in Colombia would inspire more girls to take to Santa Fe. Maybe they are all on Seeking.

One other item of note: there were a lot more young men wandering around seemingly up to no good.

I found her while hitting all the clubs. 150 K girl, 50 K room for 40 min. Woodman saved me $. Also ran into another friend I met in December. Not an ISG person but lives near Santa Fe, Still trying toi shake off altitude sickness, about to take some cialis, I read up the ED meds can help. More later, meeting a ballet dancer now.
Can somebody message me woodmans WhatsApp? Flying in tomorrow and want to schedule a tour!

The plus side was I would always lose a few pounds from walking around at the high elevation.

You've got it right- that's why the Olympic Training Center is in Colorado Springs. Not saying he's not tired at sea level, but it's not due to less oxygen at sea level.

This one yes, very close to mezzanine but blade2001 is referring to the other one slightly more in the south. Not sure will one I will pick next time I m there are both have correct to good reports and are obviously girl friendly. I usually would prefer to stay in chapinero center to be close to all the casas but. Anything north Virrey is a bit far for me but at the same time a nice 5 stars hotel is appealing.

Thanks. I did see black girls in Santa Fe but never any of the casas.

By the way-are the casas open on Sundays?

I was recently in Mexico city which has an elevation of about 7,300 ft but had no ill effects there or when returning to sea level. I had lost a significant amount of weight prior to visiting Mexico city so that may have been a factor. I'm hoping to visit Bogota again in July and it will be interesting to see if this weight loss has cured the post trip elevation fatigue I've experienced after every previous Bogota trip.

Yes I always have struggled with higher altitudes even on my first visits to Bogota 30 years ago when I was in top physical condition and now 30 years later still takes my body about a week to adjust and then the sleeplessness and constant headache wanes away. So being in shape physically has much less to do with just how our individual bodies adjust, no rhyme or reason.

My last trip to Bogota was in October 2020 and I tried a prescription drug called Acetazolamide and it seemed to help.

Have fun and what a lucky man with your 9 you scored at the club.

    The Tall Man.
We will be at high elevation next week at La Isla.
