Is anyone else currently in country that might be interested in showing the ropes up in the Luzon bar scene? The "bars" here have all been repurposed into massage parlors and they are chock full of new and naive talent. I expect that will be a recurring theme at girl bars throughout the country.
As your timeframe is short, a typical 2-week block, I'd strongly suggest Subic. As suggested on this board, it appears to have barfines, which I am not aware of in NCR. The reporting out of Burgos so far shows a few re-purposed bars being turned into resto's only.

Regarding Malate. LAC has been re-purposed similarly. GPoint is not open. The KTV bars in K-town (Adriatico, Mabini) are mostly closed still and those that are re-opened are similarly re-purposed (and mostly empty at night; last night I walked into one that is open on Mabini at 11 pm, no customers, just a loud area with socially-distanced seats). There is, at this point, no point-shoot places where you can choose a girl and go get a hotel. I am also not aware of accommodations in the area that will allow multiple guests (either together, or serially, you have to register guests in advance).

The main ST places, Sogo and Victoria Court, have minimum stays usually of 10 hours (on occasion I have gotten 6 at Sogo, but usually limited to 10 or 12 hours which costs more), at about p1000. Eurotel Pedro Gil told me they are not doing ST. There are Pension houses in the area, but are hit / miss; you must go 12 hours (price can be cheap, p600), but 1 guest (some will allow 2), guests must show valid eye dee at almost all places now (and boy, does THAT reduce the number of available girls), and they can be full -- forcing you to go walking to find another. Reddoorz (each location, so far) has taken not only my eye dee, they take the eye dee of every girl I bring in (returning the eye dees upon checkout). One day Reddoorz refused the Police Clearance eye dee of my girl, not disputing that it was a real police clearance, but saying that it was not a valid eye dee. Reddoorz, Sogo, and VC can also be full at any time of the day. VC one day asked for p4 k for a 12-hour ST room; those kind of prices hint at a shortage of ST room availability.

The ST pensionne houses can be quite low-brow. A child's bed, 1 skinny plastic pillow, 6' x 9' room, separate shower / toilet room (no toilet seat) with a pipe sticking out of the wall about chest-height you can run a stream of cold water to shower, no sink, no mirror, bottom bed sheet but no top sheet or blanket, 1 towel provided (extra towel for extra pay, or not at all available), cement walls with "09943334 xxxx ask Patricia" or a dick drawn on the wall, floors / walls / ceilings cement. Cockroaches the size of your thumb that don't show up until you are in the middle of the ditty. You are rogering her doggy when the little brown bastardo scurries right towards her, head-on, face to face. She shrieks, jumps off the bed and runs into the CR and jumps onto the seat-less toilet, shrieking "COCK ROAAAAAACH! COCK ROAAAAAACH!" Your manhood begins to decompose when the little brown bastardo reacquires a new target: You. Well, that's what I heard might happen. Bring your own mouthwash and soap, and keep your shoes on!

Do yourself a favor, go to Subic. If the gogo bars are operating, then the hotels are allowing multiple guests. Other gents in the NCR weigh in please.

Interesting. I was in the province for a year of Covid, and only during ECQ times was alcohol banned in the restos or supermarkets. Same in Manila. I bought wine for friends at the supermarket a few days ago. That is separate from various Brgy which ban alcohol from time to time.

Perhaps I'm biased in being a permanent resident that has been living here since pre-covid, but I do not see any the country opening up en mass to international tourists anytime soon. Yes, they have begun allowing vaccinated tourists from green countries in, but my understanding is they are still subject to daily arrival limits while still prioritizing OFW's and Filipino citizens. Perhaps they will try to roll-out a re-opening similar to Phuket-where select tourist destinations reopen because it's easier to vaccinate the local populations as opposed to areas like the NCR and Cebu. My guess is that Palawan and Boracay would be opened as a trial run. In general, the vaccination drive has not been going very well here. Further complicating things is the issue that many other countries are already experiencing in regards to breakthrough with the Sinovac vaccine. I was fortunate enough to be vaccinated with Pfizer here in Davao, but in general the equitable access to quality vaccines is going to be a potential road block in regards to tourism resuming at a level we have become accustomed to (in regards to the people making the decisions.) I truly hope I'm wrong, but seeing as I haven't been able to walk into a restaurant or supermarket in roughly 16 months (minus a brief 3 week break,) I am not optimistic..
Sorry posted from phone, so typos. Should have been "haven't been able to walk into a restaurant or supermarket and buy liquor, beer, or wine." Sorry if that was confusing.

Just My Thoughts on the Way Ahead Post COVID

    All,

A year ago it seemed that the world was ending, and in many ways the way things used to be have. But believe it or not things are starting to turn around, and for the fellow Lurkers and Mongers' on the PI forum as well as the others we can now look forward to trips back to the PI again, if not tomorrow but a lot closer than we would have thought back in July 2020. That being said, here are a few of my just random thoughts I see based on what I've been reading.

    1. The age of online trolling will slow down. I like many have been keeping busy just biding my time on the various sites like Tagged, Meet Me, Skout, etc. Meeting the random woman on these sites maybe giving a gift or two and getting the obligatory nude photo or video. Seen many scams out there, one picture on the profile, and once the "gift" is given something completely different gets delivered and that's just part of the game. I've learned that the moment you get an immediate request for a "castle" or "jet" I know what I'm dealing with. However the ones that have learned to play the long game may get an extra gift now and then. I bring this up because recently I've seen an uptick for immediate requests, since the advent of vaccines and some countries allowing folks to travel, I sense the providers are starting to realize that the days of their being in control are about to end. Imagine walking into a bar full of women, and one immediately comes up and asks for a "gift" and one bides her time and waits for you to sit down and take it easy. Which one would you go for? Women realize this since online it's a sellers market, but now with guys (me included) reducing time online, saving those extra bucks for a trip providers are starting to realize a return to the old days is coming.

    2. Old locations, new paint. Maybe the travel shut downs will have a silver lining. Most of you have to admit that some of the oft frequented places where Lurkers would gather were rather dumps and I doubt seriously if they would pass any fire / life safety checks provided the inspector wasn't tipped enough. From Angeles, to Subic to heck even the much known Orchard Towers in Singapore, those buildings were dumps. Kind of hard to "close for remodeling" sometimes when you have people coming every night and if you are closed you will lose out to competition. Maybe some of the old places may go by the way side, but hopefully new ones will come up in their stead. One can only shop at so many places, and there is a limit on "high end" stores that can be built in areas where folks barely have enough to buy the necessities of life, so I expect the old locations with maybe a new owner and layer of paint will open back up.

    3. Slow road to recovery. If you pay attention to the US Labor reports, you see there are more jobs than employees, and many site the Federal Government beefing up some states Unemployment benefits, making it a smarter deal to stay unemployed (depending on the job you do) and get an extra $300-$400 to their unemployment, and I would probably do the same. Same thing you can see now. Places are starting to open, countries where many of the Lurkers come from and have a little extra Euros / Dollars, etc to spend may find some ways to get back, but not the full stream as before. Thus you see the increased demands from women online asking for gifts up front (see my #1 thoughts). But once the travel spigot is turned open full, follow the money. Providers now don't have to "give it up" to get money now, but let them try that in places like Angeles or Manila when they are at home online and their neighbor is at the local bar picking up Lurkers. Pretty soon the online ones will shift back to in person.

    4. Local Government will welcome Lurker business back. You can read the news and say that the Lurker business is bad for morality, but those same ones will be there with their hands out to the owners asking for their cut of the revenue. Also, those side business will be more welcoming. Can't go and buy late night breakfast with you and two women online, but you can if you are in a bar stumbling out and heading towards to late night snack before back to the hotel. Same thing as taking them to buy some "jewelry" or what ever one buys, as well as the myriad of jeepney drivers ready to take you back. Those side business can't make any money with the game all online. Unless the local politician has an internet cafe that he charges the girls to sit at, when more people start returning in person the more the money will flow more to all.

Rather long, but those are just my thoughts as I see them Whether in the PI, Singapore, Thailand, etc. One form or another I think that is how things will play out in the near future.

    Could Be Worse

Well Westie, with all due respect. The worst that could happen is that she does contact you and then you end up getting sucked in because you think she is so hot. And then you end up texting more words than you ever thought humanly possible. Texting becomes your number one occupation. But then for one reason or another (maybe she's focusing on her work or her studies), you never see her again outside of her workplace. And that repeats itself a staggering number of time. Happened to a friend. 🤷.

    The online form.

Is clearly designed for vaccine verification for foreigners also. But the DOLE announcement says nothing (yet) about verification for foreigners. I expect that this process will be soon extended to foreigners. This will certainly remove uncertainty about the acceptance of vaccination cards after arriving in the Philippines. The online form seeks all the details about vaccination and asks to upload your vaccination certificate as well as Passport bio page (see enclosed image). The Bureau of Quarantine (BOQ) will then make advance determination, before you fly or even buy your ticket.

Bottom line: OFWs are first to try this process. Then this will be extended to foreigners, hopefully. Of course, applicable to only people from Green countries (a set of countries that does not yet include Americans or Europeans).
Green countries or countries under control, well we certainly should be one of those if not the leader. I have not worn a mask anywhere in over a month, well maybe a Dr. Office or flying but other than that nowhere. Baseball games outings and public events from what I see are back to normal in the US. We should certainly be on the entry list unless they want zero numbers, if that's the case then no one will get it.

I figure now might be a decent time to check those places out considering it is likely much less crowded. Does anyone know if bars are operating in those areas? Any help / advice in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

A simplified vaccination verification process for entry into the Philippines

I don't even think moldy hotel rooms would be cleaned. The number of mold-covered clothes, shoes and bags I've seen at different SM outlets just left there to continue festering beggars belief.
