"Spring break" is not interminable. It occurs specifically in the Spring, in March and April, depending on when various colleges further north let their students out for a week of spring intermission. It may appear interminable from the outside, but a variety of colleges set their spring break dates at different times because their semesters begin at various dates in January and end anywhere from late April to late May.

Give me the money over the fame any day. It was the talk of the world when Justin Beiber was in the fuck house here. I have been countless times and it appears nobody has given a shit yet.

From the article:
In a last-minute backtrack, the Philippines' coronavirus task force retained the modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) in Metro Manila until September 15, delaying the expected transition of the capital region to a new lockdown system.
"Metro Manila's current risk classification as MECQ shall be maintained until September 15, 2021, or until the pilot (general community quarantine) with alert level system is implemented, whichever comes first," Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque confirmed on Tuesday, September 7.
"Having said this, indoor and al-fresco dine-in services, and personal care services, including beauty salons, beauty parlors, and nail spas shall remain prohibited," he added.

Posts: 249This is just simply not true. My best friend runs the ER at a major LA hospital. This friend told me just 2 days ago that essentially EVERYONE they see for covid is unvaccinated. They ask everyone. This is my friend. Who is there every day. This friend has no agenda.

Manila jumps out of MECQ tomorrow, and falls back to the less-restrictive GCQ. The cycle continues.

From the article:
Metro Manila will go down to general community quarantine (GCQ), the Philippines' second-loosest lockdown level, from Sept. 8 until the end of the month, while 10 other areas in the country will be under modified enhanced community quarantine (MECQ) during the same period, Malacaang said on Monday.

Where did I recommend that mongers should get a free pass? I don't expect ANYONE to be flying soon.
There is a big difference between me wanting to go party and being able to. Doesn't stop me daydreaming. 😁.

The parallel to vaccinations is that someone will be there to bail them out, should they make the wrong call, so there is less incentive to think about the risks.

Smoking is a filthy, anti-social addiction. I have no time for smokers, cigarette companies or their apologists. Even thinking about them makes me homicidal. Obese people. Fat shaming, what a joke. Though Africans do like theirs on the big side.
I have a fair idea where I picked up the virus and I have taken steps to avoid such occasions of sin in the future. I am ok for the next few months and I will see how Israelis get on with their sixth, sevant and eight boosters. Real Bill Gates upgrades there.
Americans are mortal dangers to the rest of us in Covid as in much else. One only has to see American College kids partying in Florida on their interminable breaks to see what a petri dish the USA in. Kensington Ave in Philly anyone? They and much of the rest of the dumbed down world see vaccinations as a comfort blanket and their inner Nazi comes out, roaring at the rest of us.
I am socially responsible, I stay miles away from the vulnerable and limit social contact. I do know, however, that this will be a horrendous winter as others spread Covid, flus, cold and the clap and try to blame it on me and not on the house parties and junkies that keep the cops busy and afraid (they deal with the super spreaders on a daily basis and are hard hit, which affects their tik tok dancing).
The solution lies in copying the good people of China and Vietnam who understand lockdowns and social responsibility, not the Big Mac lardheads of the USA. It was the anniversary of Ho Chi Minh's untimely death (smoker) a few days ago and the great General Giap would now be 110 if he had not been taken away from us in 2013. Vietnam defeated the USA and it defeated Covid and have plans for recovery (though fatalities are back up) https://e.vnexpress.net/news/news/vi...m-4351981.html.
China, meanwhile, seems to be in control. I know people who work there and they said it is steady: Just avoid Yanks.
SE Asia, the Philippines, has been ravaged by the USA. I shudder to think what lies ahead for them.
But, as long as Big Pharma wins, why worry?

Sadly the chickens are coming home to roost I've seen 3 RIP notices in the expat forums here in Cebu in the last couple of weeks alone. I had my own scare a couple of weeks ago (non covid) and bought a couple of Oxygen tanks (difficult to find a space in hospital here now and many don't have spare tanksanyhow.
The guy I bought them off had bought them for his Pinay wife (39) who sadly didn't make it leaving 3 kids. I lent the tanks to the grandpa of a GF here a week ago, but sadly he passed 2 days ago (mid 60's).
