If you select R-Mar, be forewarned of 2 things. First, the cheaper rooms have a view of the concrete wall of the building a few feet away and it is dismal, the slightly more expensive rooms have nice views. Second, your overnight visitors are not invited to have breakfast with you, I'm not sure if they can use the other facilities. This is information from March 2020, just days before COVID.

It is a nice facility in a nice location.

Haha. Yes I remember I laughed out loud at this. Prostitution is illegal in Thailand. But when you checkin at the RMar they give you a card that says "If you bring back a girl for the night she is not entitled to the free breakfast. " I laughed so hard because it just shows how tacitly accepted it is. We never did breakfast there anyhow but otherwise enjoyed it.

I don't know their sandbox status or covid stuff but a couple years back the R-Mar was great. It's kinda magically nestled close to Bangla road but without all the noise and hassle. Nicely appointed little gem and girl friendly. You would have to check their status of late given the pandemic.

I'll be flying from Madrid to Phuket and going through the 14 days of Sandbox around the beginning or mid Oct. I've read pretty much every single report here from July 1st and I've found them to be very useful, including all those very detailed reports from J Janni and other guys.

At the moment I'm waiting for the approval of my COE and looking forward to confirm everything soon. But I'm hesitant about which hotel to book for the first 14 nights, as I want to make sure I can bring girls over. I was thinking to book Doubletree by Hilton, which is in Patong near Bangla Road and the beach, but not sure if they'll accept me bringing a guest at night, or if they'll ask for a joiners fee, or if they'll just refuse to accept any guests at all. Anybody been to the Doubletree by Hilton? Are they guest friendly?

Any other recommendations of a hotel in Patong, not far from Bangla Road, where I can bring girls over without joiners fees?

And lastly, are the short time rooms available in Phuket in covid times? Not sure if they're still open.

I'm sure there are other places, but the Austrian Garden has been great. They took care of some things for me that I couldn't do from China and there are no joiner fees. The German guys next to me have girls over every night. The girl just has to give her card to the guy who sits in the restaurant at night. Each room has a little table outside and the pool is right there. It also has a restaurant, but I usually don't eat there. Money change 5 feet out the door. Room is clean. You can check the map, but it's about a 15 minute walk to Bangla. That's a little farther than I would like, but there's a guy on a motorbike sitting 100 feet out the door all the time, so I take it when I don't feel like walking.

Anyway, I've been happy here and the girl thing is no problem.

The number of posts being made for there by my IG and Facebook friends that are also freelance girls is way high.

And when they post photos, it's showing the place to be rather busy, crowded even, with people back to back at tables, so much for social distancing. What's most impressive tho, is that the number and quality of clearly freelance women showing in the background. Most without company hovering around them.

Yes, the Sweetie bar is pretty crowded. There was even a line on Friday night. The girl I met there doesn't work there. She is a dancer and was unemployed until this week. Now she's working at a bar called "Richly. " I forget the last part of the name, but it's on the other side of the street and a bit more towards the beach. The name is hard to see because it's just above the bar and not above the entrance. There are also a lot of bargirls in there. They are the lipstick and made up types, if you like those. That's not my cup of tea. I prefer the more down to earth types.

Tonight I stopped by to see her, but she was with some Chinese guy so I just said Hi and left. I have seriously looked and clicked on everything and nothing let's me change their name. I would have been happy with that much from the beginning. There's a search button, a call button, and then a button that pulls up other options. None of those option allow for name change and clicking on the name doesn't give me the chance either.

Maybe it's related, but nobody can add my line, I always have to add them. I thought maybe it was because I didn't have an actual Thai phone number or something, but maybe I have an old version or the iPhone version is different?

I obviously should wear my glasses more often. I assumed it would be on one of the pulldown things, but it's a tiny little pencil after their name that blends in to many people's profile pictures.

Maybe it's related, but nobody can add my line, I always have to add them. I thought maybe it was because I didn't have an actual Thai phone number or something, but maybe I have an old version or the iPhone version is different?

You can change on iPhone.

In a conversation chat with them, click on their picture on left hand side.

It will bring up their profile picture page.

In the centre under their profile photo, on the right hand side of their name should be a little pencil icon.

Click on that and it brings up a "Change Friends Name" screen.

I always then position my cursor at the very left and in front of their name, and then type in their nickname, leaving their LINE name on the end behind the nickname that I've added.

As to them adding your LINE, you possibly have the option set that stood them doing so.

Are you adding by name or phone number?

If so, instead try having them add you by scanning your LINE QR code.

Last word of advice or smart cheat that helps here.

I always try and add them, rather than let them add me.

I get them to enter their name, or preferably number, then I add them, and take a quick screenshot of their name / number.

I then save that away in contacts with their names.

This girls way too often lose their phone or upgrade, and when they do that they lose all their contacts.

So if o have their name or number I can check and see if they haven't answered me because they're changed phones.

I do so by adding their name and number again, and see if I get a new LINE account.

You have 20 characters to enter their name. I usually put they're name, where I met them TF or Tinder or the bar Name. Once I've known them awhile, I usually go back and clean up the name. Sometimes I start with their Thaifriendly name but I usually put the nick name they give me but I never leave the stupid names with symbols and shit that makes them hard to find in your friends list. I delete the ones that I don't care about seeing again. Sometimes we hook up again on Thaifriendly and it's no big deal, they say I remember you and I say I lost your Line. No sweat they send me a message because I'm still on their Line and I add them again.

Anyway, this came to a head today for me because last week I went out and met a girl (girl #1) at the Sweetie Bar. She's having her period, but we sit outside and have some beers and enjoy the frogs and cats and conversation. She wants to spend the day together on Tuesday. She's going to make papaya salad and bring it to my hotel. She said we can have sex and she'll sleep here if I want. She actually has a girlfriend and doesn't want a boyfriend, so I think I'm safe from that problem. No money, she said.
