It does not take the same time as an uber or taxi. Getting on a taxi or uber is much quicker and comfortable than a bus. Unless your goal is to be at El centro. In that case, I guess it doesn't matter.

I like to be comfortable and relaxed while being driven door to door to my apartment or hotel. After traveling so long to get to Medellin do you really care about the $18 or $17 saved? When you can relax in a car as compared to a crowded bus?

For other people who do not have a burner phone but want one, I recommend just searching Amazon for a basic smart phone, I find them for around 50 - 90 USD. Some of them have a dual SIM. I used to do this and load a Google Fi service as one SIM with a USA number, to simplify it people who may need to get in touch me from the USA, they do not need mess with international codes etc. Then I would put a local SIM from Colombia or where ever in the other slot. Do this and you need to switch back and forth though, I keep mine in USA mode until I want to try and reach a chica or whatever, though whatsapp is going to work either way so that is best.

Google Fi is really the best way to go to Colombia. Unfortunately, some of the phones you listed probably are not going to work with google Fi.

Following 4 days in Bogota, my first 5 days ever in Medellin. Stayed at the Haven in El Poblado, got the suite with indoor jacuzzi, all good but overall hotel services is just average. Focused on SA / Tinder / FB online game. I liked city in itself, nice weather, clean, and nice scenery / greenery compared to Bogota. A little reminiscent of BKK.

Some observations and notes from the recent posts that I've read. My hotel is on the south end of LA 70 and it's only a 10 minute walk to the Estadio metro station. 3 stops and your at San Antonio station, 3 minute walk to Park Botero, no need to change trains and go the 1 stop, it's really close, just follow the overhead metro line. If your going to stay anywhere around LA 70, there is going to be noise until 4 am or so, being higher up helps but bring earplugs or be a heavy sleeper, I seem to have gotten used to the noise and can sleep with it. If your going to go out drinking, don't get drunk, only carry on you what you can afford to loose and "No dar papaya" as the saying goes. I do carry a cheap cell that I bought here in Colombia and have to use it at least once when with a girl as my spanish is not great, just be aware of when you pull it out and keep it in your pocket all other times and you'll be fine. Get a Civica Eventual card and put 20k on it from any metro station ticket booth, it will last a long time and shows how much left on the card everytime you use it. If you plan to take the tramway to Park Arvi it does cost more, 9k each way I think, so you have to load more on the card.

Hope that helped a little or was at least a bit entertaining. I've got 2 more days in Medellin and leave for the Amazon region on the 30th, I'll try to post any update in the Other Areas section of the forum. Got a manicure, pedicure and massage booked off of Mileroticos in 2 hours so we'll see how that goes.

Sorry, can't help you with bar names. I am not sure they even have any. I just usually stop where I fancy. Most of them have bedrooms (read: prison cells w chica) attached.

Burner phone at USD 160. Haha. That's about the same price as my phone. I never buy-in to the upsell. Meaning. The benefits you get for paying more (usually a load of features that you never use. Hehe).
