Ships are piling up at Long Beach waiting to get unloaded. The port is jammed full of containers with no place to stack more. The liberal media is blaming it on the trucking industry while the nation's store shelves are becoming bare. Well there's more to the story. Could Gavin Newsom and California's liberal trucking laws be the blame?

The news says the California port situation is caused by a driver shortage.

Not so fast: It is in part caused by a California Truck Ban which says all trucks must be 2011 or newer and a law called AB 5 which prohibits Owner Operators.

Traditionally the ports have been served by Owner Operators (non union). California has now banned Owner Operators.

Long term, truckers in California are not investing in new trucks because California has a law that makes them illegal in 2035. The requirement is to purchase electric trucks which do not exist.

Um...if drivers had plenty of the "required" trucks to transport the goods as of March 2020, what happened to them since then? Did they sell them to pound into scrap and donate the money to the MAGA sucker fund raisers?

Every day he is told who to talk to and what to say then leave without taking questions so that the public won't see the poor memory skills he as. It is not his fault. Alzheimer's is serious. 65% of the USA knows this and virtually every world leader knows this. Biden is a joke and his presidency is a sham. In 10 months already surpassed Carter as worst president ever. Obviously you don't live in USA or you would see it too.

You mean the number of jobs Trump produced in his first three years that were fewer than the number of jobs Obama produced in the 3 years prior? Yes, I have acknowledged that Biden's historic all-time record of USA jobs creation is still about 3 million jobs short from the 10+ million Trump wiped out in his fourth year due to one of his many disastrous economic decisions going back to at least 2018.

But Biden has only been POTUS for about 9 months. He's got at least 3 if not 7 years and 3 months left of Dem economic expansion and historic USA jobs creation left.

Or did you and your friends in California "forget" about that part?

Truly, if Trump's presidential stewardship results as a so-called potus had only been half as good as Carter's, America and the world would have been doing great by January 2021.

Doling out survival subsistence cash to deadenders quickly finds its way into corporate coffers. Various industries benefit and have interest in keeping the system in place. Without it, new industries would develop -- capitalized businesses picking up bodies off the streets for example, rival companies to the fast food franchises -- and the cash still finds its way to a corporation's bottom line.

In USA, it is socialism for the corporations and the 1%, and capitalism for everybody else.

FYI, example: Although it may be marketed as 'Investing in Our Future' or some such slogan, student loans enable the credentialing industry to have customers. They're a subsidy that keeps the schools solvent. Do you see how that works?

This is absurd. Just because you are on welfare or government subsistence someone has to work and pay taxes so a socialistic government can give it to you. You must be one of the proud democrats on welfare. Biden knows all welfare recipients are democrats so the more people he can put on welfare is more votes. The world does not need student loans. They are low interest and a majority of them are in default. If you weren't permanently assigned to the short bus, you would know, as a Californicator, about Proposition 13 and its effects on the property tax rates. The property tax you paid is far lower than the tax you would have paid had Prop 13 not been enacted by "the socialists".

Thanks for confirming that California has been run by socialists. I guess that is why the democrats in California are upset with the current government. My property taxes are $12,000. Much more expensive than most of the other states adjoining California. There is nothing cheap about living in California.

The most representative countries that would fit a socialist mode are: Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Portugal etc.

OK, I understand what you're trying to say, but it's simply not accurate. With the demise of the USSR and Warsaw Pact, the only real socialist countries that exist in the world today are Cuba and North Korea, and that's it. It's not even Vietnam and China despite their ideological contortions. And it's certainly not Norway, Sweden et al, which are social democracies, yes, but with free market economy at their core, they have absolutely nothing to do with socialism.

There is a huge difference between social democracy and democratic socialism. The former is real, the latter doesn't exist.

Here, the shooter was given sympathetic coverage (they covered his mama, or some female relative, telling us that he a gud boi who dindu nuffin because the kids he shot had bullied him) and then he was released the following day!

So, you take a gun into a school and shoot four people, you get out the next day; you walk unarmed through open doors into a government building, you get 9 months and counting of torture in solitary confinement.
