Also note "Mombasa" not only includes the proper city-island (locally referred to as Mombasa town) but also the towns to its north and south such as Nyali, Bamburi, Shanzu, Mtwapa, Kikambala, Diani, etc. Each of these places has pluses and minuses (cost, quality of beaches, access to public transport, ladies, nightlife, etc.) so it's up to you to determine which factors are the most important.

Mtwapa is generally recommended if you're here for a few weeks and want safe and affordable fun. Read the forum, and you should have all the answers you need.

There were these very good maps that somebody made. Where have they disappeared? I thought that they were in the Reports of Distinctions folder.

By the way of the hotels, threesomes disappeared from the menu some years ago, now it seems that all of them have only one visitor. Or those hotels that I know of. For that activity apartments are better.

Big Tree rooms have been updated on that site and look good value if you are on a budget.

Indiana, there the beach side rooms and the car park side rooms. The trick is to check several rooms and pick the best one.
