I was hoping to drive from Cartagena to Barranquilla and then Santa Marta. See the coast etc. I may have a Colombian along who could drive. The car rental companies all seem to want a credit card and deposits. Only have debit cards and cash. In the USA I have not had a problem. Any solutions? Rent a wreck? Local rental companies?

There really is nothing to see. Shacks and swamp. For the price you pay for a rental car you can actually just use rideshare. The car cost me $50 per day when I drove from Barranquilla to Cartagena and back the same day. An Indriver would have been the same price without all the hassle. Or you could even meet a guy while you are using Indriver and ask him about being your personal driver in his car.

I can concur with Mr E that that there is nothing scenic about that trip. I have made the trip using van service where you ride with muldtiple people and it is dirt cheap. I have gove alone and once I went to Barranquilla and hooked up with a chica and we used the same service to get back to Cartagena. What looks like a coastal highway on the map actually rare gets with eye view of the ocean. If I were in your place I would just look for some kind of van or bus service. Mr E had more experience though and probably more recent.

I would add that for your own protection it's not a good idea to rent a car, especially a rent a wreck without a major credit card. If there's a problem the credit card company will help resolve it. If you put down a cash deposit, they've got you over a barrel.

I am going to address some aspects of your questions but there are too many to go into too much detail here.

1. If I only had six days I would just stay in Cartagena. Your going to essentially lose a day traveling and getting set up somewhere else and a three two split isn't enough time in either place.

2/3. I pay a chica 200 k for two hours and BBBJ GFE kissing. YMMV. I have never expected a girl to supply the condems. I never pay before always after.

4. It completely depends on what you are into. No the beaches are not "nice' but they still draw a crowd. The main tourist attraction is the walled in city. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site because of the preserved old city made up of the original colonial architecture buildings. The old city is surrouded by a defensive wall miles long that would cost a trilliond dollars to build today. It was built during a time when Cartagena was world class trading port, something like Venice Italy when much wealth flowed through the city. If you are not into hiistory and historical architecture, then no you will not care that much about it.

Nexty door to the walled in area is a sister neighborhood called Getsemani that used the be the rundown sketchi stepsister until a few years ago when they brought in the best street artists from around the world and adorned all the buildings with murals and fancy graffiti. Causing a growth in restaurants and services so that recently Forbes mag named Getsemani one of the ten coolest neighborhoods in the world. But you still have to like that sort of thing. 5 You absolutely have to message each apartment owner and ask outright "can I bring different girls back to my place at night to stay over? What is your policy regarding this and what is the building policy regarding this?" Be upfront about waht you need and ask both the owners policy and the building policy.

When I came back ten minutes later, I received the same rejection and then the guy told me not to wait near the door but across the street. Screw that noise so I left. Now you mention that sometimes they don't let you in because they don't think you will get a table or other BS. Has anyone else experienced this difficulty?

I am in Santa Marta now so I peeked in Bananas, this little club with chicas, near Parque Novios. But it was completely empty and the doorman said try back at 10.

Pay a taxi driver. Off the meter of course. Make a deal, the day before, to take you where you want to go and how. I've traveled from Santa Marta to BAQ and BAQ to CTG by taxi, this is the way to go.

1. This is a subjective question that depends on the mongers taste. For example: If you ask how's the fruit and someone says they love it because all they ate were mangoes then you arrive looking for apples and they aren't any, you would say the fruit sucks. Without saying what you are looking for its vague question. Some like them light, some dark, some big, some skinny, some tatted up, some clean skin, some with fake tits and ass some natural, and all that can be mixed and matched in so many ways.

2. No. Prices top out at what you are willing to pay. Thanks to all the weekend millionaires things have increased. 200 K are reasonable daytime prices por uno palvo. Night time prices start at 300 K and if you want over night well that depends on your negotiating skills and what services you are asking for. Best deal I've gotten was sin condom, anal, tres palvo TLN por 500 K and she allowed video without face as usual. Of course Venezuelan as they are easier to negotiate with. Ended up seeing her a few times a week.

3. Your choice. But after a few experiences with paying before I only pay after now. If they have a problem with it I show them the door. But to be honest bullshit can happen on both sides as these new mongers like to say service wasn't good and only want to pay half, or these new chicas get paid first then does rush service where they leche papi you 5 minutes in. This is why its good to have a network of girls there as friends vouch for friends.

4. Cartagena beaches suck. You will get harasses by vendors, massage ladies, and everything in between, yes, you can go there to pick up chicas but everything else will annoy you. And they will over charge you. Take a boat to the other islands for better water and no touts to harass you.

5. Even if it is in the rules. Still flat out ask the host are visitors allowed and what are the restrictions.

5. I read about house rules. Been looking at Airbnb's with flexible guest / visitor policy. Most will allow only sign-in a day beforehand. Would appreciate tips on which Airbnb's to focus upon, I. E, not condos?

There's really no dress code to get into the clubs, a regular shirt, shorts and flip flops and they will let you in. But I would suggest sneakers at Space or Delirium or at least closed toe sandals because all it takes is one of those beer belly mongers to step on your toes when they moving through the crowd and your night is done jajaja. 6 pm is way too early though, you won't be seeing anything but just a bunch of guys standing around. Aim your timing closer to 10 pm.

Dolce can get picky on who they let in once they see there is enough guys in there. If you don't look like you will be buying drinks or getting a table they may not let you in, or they might do to you what they did to me on my last trip where they say you can only get in if you get a table.

Looks like you are having a blast! All the over the counter drugs you can throw money at.

I'll be arriving 11/5, and I'll be sure to post a trip report when I get back from a 10 day trip. Staying in one of Juan's apartments in Laguito. Does anyone have any experience golfing down there? Is Karibana any good? Is it worth bringing my clubs, or nah?

TPC Karibana is a great course. I play it three times per year. Tee off by 8:30 so you finish before the afternoon wind. Book online. Make sure you have a copy of your passport. I never bring my clubs. They have Titleist rental clubs that are adequate. The clubs are 5 years old with regular shafts. Hit them straight!
