Posts: 151Yes, but you have to act carefully in Madagascar. Especially at night. There is serious risk of getting robbed at knife point in Antananarivo at night if you walk too long, I had experienced this by myself so its not a joke.

Posts: 326Warm smell of colitas, rising up through the air like the phone call to the embassy.
I can smell it - Mada is a beast, the seasoned Mada guys know it just to well. LOL.

You first. The seasoned Mada guys are taking a wait and see attitude (as am I). I am planning July 2022. Hopefully the hassles will be minimal, airfares lower and flights more common. If not, well fucked if I know. We would love to hear your experience as one of the first back to Mada after the long, long time away. So you know, just do it!
Note to Amadeuss: stop posting that picture. It is making me think of following Tinte's advice and jumping on the first plane back I can find!

Posts: 984As Neddy pointed out: any embassy is just staffed with guys to attend dinners and not with well educated and responsible staff. Don't expect updated infos from them. Facts you may check out on the websites of the Mada Tourism Ministry http://www.tourisme.gov.mg/ -- but the site is off since while. Go figure.
The country opened borders. It works. Sort of, for about 1000 passengers per week. Although I assume 90% of them are returning Malgache. Quarantine hotels are fully booked.
In December flight prices are high because fully booked. End of January the first run is over and prices return to normal.
The girls are waiting. The earlier you arrive, the better the selection.

Posts: 326The whole thing ist more a kind of commercial Repatriation, bidirektional. The way things go on in Europa, on might get stuck in Mada for a longer time as he liked to.
Current Red list. Just ask the embassy in your home country.
Obstakels are here to overcome, just take it easy and do it.

So I guess France is not on red list. Up to now.
But also:
"Si LE voyageur vient the'un pays classé « rouge » mais qu'il prend l'avion depuis un pays « vert », qu'en est-il de ce genre de cas?
Non, ce voyageur ne peut pas venir à Madagascar".
Google translate: If the traveller comes from a "red" country but flies from a "green" country, what about such cases?
No, this traveller cannot come to Madagascar.
They must be able to know how you stayed in France maybe if you are foreigner from red country and fly from Paris. Or its just forbidden.

There are several countries on the list. 300 cases of 100.000 citizen a week and that country is on the red list. But last time that just meant boarding in that country was not allowed. If you started your journey/boarding in a green country everything was fine. If France is on the list it would be game over. We will see what will happen next days. Cases increasing in a lot of countries, so the red list will also increase soon I guess.

You have to bee tested negativ () bevor leaving your country, on arrival again. Moste likely you will bee negativ again. You get driven to your hotel by a driver moste likely from the hotel you have booked and payed bevor and all you have to let the authorities know. Thats the way they tell you to do .
What are the red Countries by the way?
