I was taking a piss by the trees on Calle 22 Bis and Carrera 15 at 2:00 am On Friday, and about three to four guys started yelling. Honestly, could be either because they were yelling right when I started pissing from a distance. So I guess they don't like people pissing there.

LOL. Same thing happened to me. Well almost the same. Last time I was there late one night I walked down one of those dark streets to find a place to do it. As soon as I was set someone from a distance started yelling at me. I just tucked it back in and walked off. After 16 years I still do not know the names of any of those streets.

Yes, it is much easier to rob someone when they don't expect it. So yelling prior to robbing makes no sense and can trigger the fight or flight mechanism.

Didn't think about the effect it would have for others, but makes sense. The best way to win a fight is to not have one. Never know who has a knife or what. It's much harder to hit a running target than one standing still. Yes, I knew the police are on the take for pickpockets and other shit, which is why I wasn't surprised by their response. Yelling "ladrones" seems to help stop the attack though. It's stupid for business that they would hit rather than explain, but as the taxi driver said, 'they hit first, then explain later'. It's barbaric, but this isn't The Hamptons ffs. Don't think they were going to try to kill me though. Maybe just one smack and try to get me to give them money. Glad I made it out unscaved, but probably won't go back there for a while, especially at night.

A couple weeks ago while walking down the street at 3:00 am In Centro (not SF), two guys tried to block my path. One guy had missing teeth and looked like an addict. Did not feel right. Before he could get out a few words or get within 10 feet of me, I juked them then sprinted away. They yelled something in frustration. Fifteen minutes later they robbed a guy selling tinto for his cigarettes and cuatro mil using a knife. I was in OXXO and he came to tell the police, who were there drinking coffee. The police went after them in their moto, but they were gone.

You go to poor countries, and you see the reason why they remain poor. Usually it is a vicious cycle among poverty, education and corruption.

The entire Centro is a lawless, anarchic area. It is an autonomous fiefdom of robbers and gangs.

A few years back my wing man, who is 6'3 why 280 actually fell off the table. The room was so small you could almost touch both walls if you stretched out both of your arms. BUT it's always worth a trip I have seen a few all stars there could easily rate a solid 9. A lot of girls will travel from way down in the south of Bogota to work there and they tell their family they have a real job to go every day. This time in December in most of Latin and South America you can run into some very hot, non pros out trying to make Christmas money.

If they had wanted to rob you, they would have attacked with your back to them and / or come much closer to you so that one could try to pickpocket you while you were occupied with the others.

You can avoid the ridiculous charges on Spirit for using the overhead bin and checking fee. Pack lite and take a direct flight, otherwise book elsewhere.

Last time I was in Bogota I swore never to go back to Mezzanine because of those tiny uncomfortable rooms. Yet I found myself walking into the place again, multiple times.

The place seems more segregated than I remember, with the hottest chicks in the first room and progressive decline in beauty as you go towards the last door. The pricing also matches the progressive layers of subjective appeal, with the last door charging 60 k and the first door 150 k for the standard service. I opted for the first door, multiple times.

The two standouts were Leidi and Mia, both young and hot as hell. Leidi has a nice bubble but, speaks fluent English and is very polite, said she's college educated, which was believable. Good service. Mia was probably my best experience the entire trip. Very skilled sensual massage, mostly with her butt, followed by great energetic service. Highly recommended.

He said they wouldn't remember me because tons of people walk there every day, and they probably do drugs / get wasted every day, which is probably true. Someone else said that's bullshit and they just saw an opportunity to rob a foreigner. Honestly, could be either because they were yelling right when I started pissing from a distance. So I guess they don't like people pissing there.

What does ISG think? No one has ever fucked with me, and I've been there plenty. But I've never taken a piss in that area, but have outside on Calle 20 by Carrera 16 a. Is it safe to return and walk down that street again, even late at night?

Showdown, what Spirit does is hit you up hard on the back end. The fares are dirt cheap until you add bags, pick a seat ETC. I got a buddy who uses them and just buys cheap clothes when he gets to Colombia as it is cheaper than packing a bag. I think you pay like $100 often to have a suitcase round trip with Colombia.

Xpartan is right in that the seats suck, but they are okay if you are thinner. You have the least amount of leg room of any of the airlines though. I have had some miserable Spirit flights. And he is right about upgrading. With the big seats, you are getting like a first class seat and it is usually between only $50 and $80 more.

The other part that sucks with Spirit is you are going to be waiting way longer in line than any other airline. Their computer system sucks!! When they say show up 3 hours early, you do so. The lines are horrible!

Thing with Spirit though is that when I am making my flight plans, I think I can endure Spirit for the cost savings, then I go to the airport and curse using them, then I get home and say "Eh, that was not so bad."

If it is 50% cheaper on Spirit, I say to go for it and use it. If it is 20% cheaper, I would say to use a different airline. Really the best deal is using Viva to fly from Miami to Medellin not Spirit. That flight just does not always show up when you do searches.
