Are the bars in Ban Chang open yet?

Big panic yesterday, a bar on Soi Buakhow was raised, and the staff taken to the monkey house. Within a few hours, Brown envelopes were shared, the ladies released, and the bar was open again.

I had a Mamasan over for drinks last night, and she shared bar horror stories, both from the lady and the customer perspective. Lots of bad customers out there. Also, some bar girls fall in love with customers, but have many customers. So they are always in love.

Last thought: if you even think about sponsoring a bar girl, make sure you look at her Facebook account. Lots of guys only interact with ladies via LINE or email. If you don't see her Facebook, you have zero idea what she is doing. I took a lady to Phuket last week, and she got calls from a sponsor. He was asking if she was going to the market, not knowing she was in Phuket. If he only looked at her Facebook, he would have known she was going with a customer. I don't sponsor any ladies, so I Don't care what they do when they aren't with me, but sponsors often do care.

I am surprised nobody has mentioned the cost. I started going to Bangkok and Pattaya in 2003, and I have taken close to 30 trips. Gogo bars used to be my favorites, as I always thought they had the best looking girls. I am one big sucker for eye candy. But I was surprised to see the price rise over the past 10 years or so. I rarely go there anymore.

My guess is that the influx of Chinese and Korean mongers probably caused the inflated pricing. I am now mostly into street girls and soapies / massage parlors.

I like the casual getting to know a girl in a beer bar. Play some games and a little casual groping. You can tell if she going to be a fun affectionate lay. Money matters to me too. You can spend 1000 baht in a gogo bar in ten minutes if you don't pay attention. I liked the beer bars in nakula in pattaya and the out of the way beer bars in Phuket. I liked seeing the same girl over weeks. I miss Thailand.

My points exactly. You can really learn about how a beer bar girl is going to be by spending time to get to know her. Though there was that one night I was fingering a go-go girl while sitting at the stage-side seats at Champagne Bar in LK Metro; she didn't seem to mind and we were spending way too much money on shots. I never did bar fine her. In my 15 visits or so to Thailand, I have only bar fined one go-go girl. The downfall of beer bars is, if you bar fine one girl, it's tough to go back for another girl in the same bar. Hence the term, "Butterfly", LOL.

Lodging in Pattaya. You can can 600 baht hotels in the Core of Pattaya. Safe and OK places.

Try getting similar quality in Urban core of Bangkok.

What facts do you base your oppinion on? Are you even in Pattaya? Such generalization is simply ridiculous and no explanation for the present shortage of girls here. The situation is a lot more complex than that.

How many Asian tourists you see walking the mean streets of Pattaya.

It's a general stereotype that Cheap Charlie's go to Pattaya and rich guys go to BKK. Yes, there are many more low end expats and tourists in Pattaya vs BKK but from a guy who lived in Pattaya for a few years condo rental, food in restaurants, taxis, gogo girl barfines, etc are all more expensive in Pattaya than BKK. Pre-COVID, what was cheaper in Pattaya were Soi 6 girls, G Club girls, and Beach Road FL's.

Problem with Beer Bats is the girls are just so unattractive. Hence very, other than a few popular places, they are extremely Devoid of customers.

More bars opening in Pattaya tomorrow. Although tourists are pouring into Pattaya, I am seeing some spreading out of customers around town, so bars aren't jammed.

No, I'm not in Pattaya, but I have been many many many times.

Well how about first hand knowledge, from visits, from talking with working girls and punters that are friends and live there, and also bar owners.

Also from reading comments in many a forum by punters heading there, and bemoaning the covid era changes.

Lastly, its a generalization as a comment.

Of course not all Pattaya visitors are cheap charlies, but it has always been the case that such punters headed there in far higher numbers than anywhere else in Thailand.

And they still head there in greater numbers than they do elsewhere now that Thailand is reopening.

While Bacarra is one of my favorites; dealing with elbow to elbow seating with chain smokers on either side; I'll take a beer bar any day. That doesn't even factor in the high cost of beers, lady drinks, bar fines and ST / LT charges in the go-gos. Beer bars will be the first to safely reopen; go-go's will be the last, if they reopen at all. Final point; I've had more intimacy with a girl in a beer bar that in any go-go bar. As soon as I see the beer bars reopen, I'm back in a flash!
