Isn't it pay first before going to room?

Been so long since I was in terminal I don't remember. Usually in Jakarta you get a wrist band or card with a number and pay the grand total on your way out.

There are usually ways around paying up front even if they claim that's how it is.

This isn't Qantas Air; you're dealing with pimps and mamasans.

It is also possible to turn back before anyone does anything and get money back.

For example if a woman promises a BJ but won't do it, it's quite possible to stop things there and go back.

But better just to learn to question up front and avoid any dramas.

I passed the Classic Hotel the other day and asked the satpam if the motel rooms were open, not only were the rooms open but Lantai Dua was also open, music, sexy dancers and all the girls you could shake a stick at, he delightedly told me.

Intrigued I went up and sure enough it was open, full on, bizarrely the sexy dancers were wearing perspex face masks (and even more bizarrely didn't take their clothes off, which rather defeats the purpose) but other than that no sign of health protocols. It gave me a nice buzz taking a seat once again after 18 months, telling the mamsan not to bother me until I got a beer down my neck, and just like the old days, her ignoring my very clear instructions and grabbing the first girl passing to introduce to me. There were plenty of girls, dressed in halter tops and tight trousers rather than the dresses of before but looking no worse for that.

I got a fine-looking seemingly busty young lady (claimed to be 19, almost certainly older) and she persuaded me to call an equally attractive friend, two-for-one package for 500 k. Normally I would never fall for that (two girls usually means more is less as they chat, check their phones and happily ignore the client) but I was feeling in ebullient form just to find myself back in the game again.

As it turned out it was just like the old days, two 20-something Sundanese single moms, who in the harsh light of the bedroom out of their push-up bras and high-heeled stilettoes lacked the glamour they presented in the noise and darkness upstairs. Added to that, the perfunctory covered BJ reminded me why I rarely had a great time in Classic.

But you know what? I didn't care. It was just nice to know that the green shoots of spring are here, winter's over. My life didn't come to a shuddering end in March 2020 after all, there's fun to be had again.

Just not in Classic, not this time.

Yea that's always an issue here but easy enough to ask if they had a baby. Then ask again to be sure. Then say if you had a baby I am going to leave the room without paying. That always works!

I got quoted for a visa 5.5 m IDR which I think is just ridiculous. You can get 7 days quarantine hotel airport transfer all tests and have change left for that. Does any one know a cheap place or is it only possible to get ripped off real bad.

You are correct in theory. However, in practice no international flights are arriving into DPS airport.

You can't fly into Bali. You have to fly into Jakarta and quarantine there.

OK, this covid thing is really getting annoying. I've got an extremely cute little birdwatcher there, that I am eager to enjoy again. I am between jobs and have time to kill.

Trying to figure out what I have to do to get back into Indonesia. It looks like I need a 211 A Visa (Tourist). How difficult is it to get and how long does it take to get? Who can be my sponsor in-country? My hotel? I don't think my birdwatcher has enough money in bank to act as a sponsor.

I can only enter the country and quarantine in Bali? But, someone posted their link to all the quarantine hotels in Jakarta. Which is it? Can I quarantine in Jakarta?

I may have more questions..

You can't fly into Bali. You have to fly into Jakarta and quarantine there.

According to the Indonesian immigration website https://www.imigrasi.go.id/en/covid19-1/#1619354580218-89 b0 a356-5 f91.

Only citizens of 19 Countries can apply for the "Tourist Visa". USA is not one of them. Not sure if there is any flexibility with this. Perhaps with the right sponsor.

My friend is looking for dates in or around Jakarta. Covid has killed her real-world working income. I felt so bad seeing how skinny she has become that I've sent money on a number of occasions.

I am not an expert but I have some knowledge about the visa. As far as I know, consulates won't issue any visa as of right now. Currently, You need to apply business visa in order to enter Indonesia. For more info, you can go to www.imigrasi.go.id. Another thing is that you can contact local travel agent in indo to "take care" of that visa for a substantial amount of fee. Last time I checked, it will cost around 4 to 5 mil rupiah (about $350 to 400). If you do that, the process will take about 1 to 2 weeks.

Hey all! Long time lurker new time poster! I am super excited to provide my reports! I was just approved and got my visa to enter Indonesia I'm leaving from JFK in NYC (my home) on February 21st.

My question is is the Grand Mercure Harmoni still a good hotel that has spas and restaurants open with working girls? As I'll have to quarantine in the hotel for. 7 days now I don't want nor can I actually leave the hotel. I was considering this hotel or going cheaper by staying at the classic.

Any advice or recommendations for "in house" entertainment for my month long stay in Indonesia starting February 21st?
