True Omicron deaths are likely higher than the cases where there is an exclusive respiratory cause of death but lower than the actual number of deaths reported.

Proportionately to prior variants, not many are dying or even hospitalized for respiratory disease. But how many of the hospitalized with "incidental" covid findings might be suffering from an exacerbation of their chronic conditions caused by covid's non-respiratory, systemic effects will forever be unknown.

In France, 96% new cases are Omicron, pretty sure same almost everywhere except in India and Denmark where now BA. 2 spreading.

Why? I have natural immunity with a recent Omicron infection which was rendered ridiculously mild due to being previously boosted. No need for vaccines unless a more virulent strain pops up.

France is basically that guy who was a complete LEGEND in high school and is still doing rather well to this day, but you still get the sense hes kind of coasting on past achievements. In this case high school was sometime around 1805.

Thanks for all the numbers. So, what's your final thought? If politicians like Florida or Texas governors were in charge of Germany, would they have kept the FKKs open now or not?

In lieu of answering your question, I'm saying that if the governors of Texas / Florida were in charge of a German state like NRW or Hessen, the realities happening in those densely populated states would have forced their hands to close nightclubs. But then again, Germans are much more risk averse than Americans, so the nature of the people may have put natural limits on their covid situations.

But if you replace the German population and politicians with Texans and Floridians and their governors, then yeah, I believe 100% that nightlife in Germany would have been closed even if Governors Abbott or DeSantis were running the show. That's exactly what forced municipalities in such as Miami and Houston to impose restrictions in lieu of statewide restrictions.

Remember, Texas is mostly desert and Florida is half swamp land with cities located several hours apart. The proportion of people living in sparsely populated rural areas is greater than in Germany where cities are only an hour or two car ride away with suburbs connecting the entire space between cities. That's not the case when you have hundreds of miles of rural land between Houston and Austin or Jacksonville and Tallahassee.

Seems like you seem to keep referencing US because you can't defend your false claim that Omicron kills more and more in Germany since German deaths have been decreasing since even before Omicron.

When cases rise but deaths and hospitalizations decline, that's a signal that the disease in insignificant. Easy logic for reasonable people. Obviously not the case here.
