Posts: 93The usual process for registration of guest involves the front desk scanning their ID / passport. Next night if you are walking thru the lobby, hotel personnel will usually just ask / expect you to register your guest, not exactly knowing if you registered someone previously or if that is the same person. Cameras are everywhere but I would doubt FR. Its just hotel personnel stopping everyone that looks like they should be asked.

Posts: 34Registration of guests in rooms
Quick question which I don't think I have seen asked before.
If I come to a hotel and register a guest. Let's say guest A. She registers, stays and then leaves. Next night I want to meet another guest, say, guest be. Would the hotel know that this is a different guest. I know registration can also be for our safety, but would the hotel know that it's actually a different guest? Do they have facial recognition?
Thanks RebelLeader.

Depending on the setup of the entrance, lobby, doorman and time of the evening, some of those require an ID of the guest to register her.
Big lobby, before 10 pm, no problem, UNLESS the elevator uses a card key.
Small lobby, bored doorman / security, after midnight, ID card is likely.
So ask the host about lobby, security guard.
Elevator access.
Some hosts will ask for the passport of the "second" person, if you book with two guests. Just ignore it.
Self check-in places are a better option.

It can happen that the receptionist calls for ID, and they can also send a doorman to collect the document and return it. A small tip is appreciated.

So in my quest to find green hotels in Dubai I just got this response from Nassima tower and it says the following:
Assima Tower Hotel Apartments' reply:
We allowed visitors as long as you can provide the name upon check in. The visitor have to pass by the Reception Desk with valid ID for CID scanning. However, due to current situation in connection with the covid19, we minimize the number of visitors.
I think this is green am I right? Visitors must pass by the reception and provide an ID or passport copy.

Unless you have your own apartment, the only solution to not having to register a lady guest is to get an AirBNB. I have now stayed in 2 and if you accompany the guest, they won't ask for any ID. Many times the girl just walked up to the elevator and came to the room, no ID asked. Of course it does depends on how the girl is dressed and looks, etc.

Does anyone remember when Green meant no questions asked and no registration??
Do I really want to register a woman in my hotel and have the info be available to Dubai govt?
Well, when your dick is hard, you forget to care about it.
My pre-covid experience, so not very recent:
Burjuman Rotana: You have to come down to reception to fetch your guest. A security guard is at the entrance from the Mall. Its possible to sneak in during the day.
Previous Hilton Creek, now something Golden Sands Creek: Its has an entrance on the back, away from reception area. Just have the taxi go around the back.
Fairmont SZR: Stayed there for many years. BIG lobby. Long walk of shame. There is an entrance on the back where parking decks are. Used it many times. Taxi can pull around the corner.
Sheraton Grand SZR: medium size lobby. It has a side entrance for the residence tower. Late at night a security guard may be there, but if you look like a normal human couple, it should be ok.
Four Points, Khalid bin Walid: Tiny lobby. Need card key for elevator. The girl walk straight to the elevator and can message in advance to meet you at the elevator.
LE Meridien Airport: Big lobby. It had an entrance at the back where taxi could take you (on the club side). Used that a few times. But it had renovations so not sure.
Etc etc.

DoubleTree by Hilton Dubai M square Hotel & Residences. It near the Burjuman Rotana and opposite Park Regis Kris Kin. Its new a very good.
I booked a room for 2. When I checked in, they asked me if a guest would be joining me and I said yes. They asked if she would be checking in later and I said yes.
I was then good to go.

Posts: 14In my mission to find some green hotels
Hello everyone,
I'm coming to Dubai in 2 weeks and looking to find some green hotels around SZR. I emailed a couple of hotels and 3 of them told me my guest needs to be registered upon check in and they are:
1. Fairmount hotel.
2. Al Habtoor Palace.
3. Voco Dubai.
The green hotels that I have found are:
1. Burjuman Rotana.
2. Park Regis Kris Kin.
3. Crowne Plaza Deira.
4. Jumeriah Beach.
5. Armani Hotel.
6. Byblos Hotel.
Lastly, any help would greatly be appreciated. But where would you guys stay at if you are visiting Dubai for a couple of days and look to have a good time? I'll gladly buy a beer to anyone who could help me out as I haven't visited Dubai since 2016 so I guess a lot of places changed and hotel policies also changed. Cause last time I was in Dubai I stayed in Fairmount and had no problem bringing WG back to my room from their Cigar lounge bar.
