BEACH ROAD SCAM?

I was walking along the beach road today and was approached by a young and attractive girl claiming to be a student. She wanted me to fill out a questionaire, I wasn't busy so I agreed. Anyway, after finishing it she gets me to pick a lucky dip card, it turns out I've won the star prize. To find which one of the prizes I won I had to go with the girl to a hotel in Jomtien beach. This is where I became cagey, I refused to go and carried on walking.

What I want to know is does anyone know of this, is it a scam, or was I foolish walking away? The prize was a week in the hotel, a digital camera or $500. It seemed to good to be true, they were even paying for the taxi there and back.

I appreciate all the help in my defense. I have been all over this world and feel that the go go bars in Thailand are a rip off. In particular the Classroom. If they would like to talk with me about this I will be glad too. If anyone is planning a trip to LOS read the comments and suggestions here. The members that post here regularly will provide valuable advice.

ps I have also found that if you negotiate a low fee with a tip included if service is good then you will have a very good time.

Just wonder why a girl should run at all, she gets only 100-200 out of the barfine and the real money is earned with special services. The lucky guy I am, it never happened to me. Maybe because I only pick a girl if there is some sort of chemistry between us. I believe that trying to convince a girl and offering more money won't guarantee anything.

IN THEORY, an advantage of gogo girls is that one has SOME recourse if the girl does a runner, steals from you etc. HOWEVER, I noticed a disturbing trend of "no refund" policies in gogo bars (Carousel & Misty's come to mind). After a friend had a runner before he even got back to his room with her, he returned to the bar and was shown a TINY sign reading "choose carefully. No refunds." Never thought I'd defend the ethics of gogo bar owners in the PI, but at least in the old days they WOULD stand behind their product and give a refund for runners etc.

Also, some Pattaya bars have developed this insiduous practice of split shifting on weekends so you must pay TWO BAR FINES for one day (they consider day & night separate shifts). Never heard of this in the PI (or ANYWHERE else). Given that it is low season, you'd THINK they'd be a little more interested in having satisfied customers. I still love Pattaya, but the gogo bars are better for watching the shows than finding sanuk.

I am with you. Usually bar girls have a better attitude than gogo girls. I made the experience that many of the gogo girls - not all of course - are usually out for ST rather than LT. I like to have someone close to me in the morning when I have a hard-on. Bargirls also aren't as pushy as gogo girls regarding drinks.

Needless to say that I never managed to understand why gogo girls should be paid better than bargirls. Maybe that's why I usually prefer freelancers and bargirls. Anyway, I never talk about money beforehand except telling them that they will get paid due to performance without mentioning any numbers. That usually garantuees maximum performance and if not satisfied she will get paid accordingly.

All I can do is guess, that there are enough customers who are willing to pay more in a gogo than in a bar for some unknown reason. Maybe the girls believe that they are worth more than their counterparts at the bars or it's just the same reason why goods at the Emporium are much more expensive than at Chatuchak market, environment and location.

I have never understood how the bar owners get away with fining the girls for any reson they feel like, (late for work, not enough make up, calling in sick). There are literally thousands of bars in Bangkok and Pattaya, if the owners want to fine them for not showing up, they could just move on.

Imagine being fined at your job for calling in sick? Laughable.

I came to Pattaya with a predesigned game plan for mongering. As was the case last November, I was sharply criticized by many of the longtime senior members for overpaying, especially when it came to the beach walk girls.

Well, on this trip, I have decided to make it fully upfront with the girl of my choice, I will pay a very minimal upfront fee and I will tip and hand over money rather generously for great service. And fellow mongers, great service I have gotten. Over the past 5 days here in Pattaya, I have had about 12 ST, freelancers during the mid day and late afternoons and another 5 overnight girls. I have yet to receive even one bad or less then perfect encounter. This method works, especially when you tell the girls upfront. I also think if all mongers used this full proof method, we would all get better service. This would be achieved by the girls learning, the nicer they are, the more the get.

For most of my dates that required NO barfine, I started with 500 baht, and tipped up to another 800 baht, for ST daytime dates, The average tip turned out to be about 300, if she was really into her work and into me, she got more.

One lady even told me, "you give me 800 baht tip and I do for you anything you like, anyway you like." Needless to say, I sampled everything she had to offer and yep, she got her 800 baht tip!

I'm amazed at the low season, I guess they call it that for a reason, there are few tourists and what seems to be just as many girls as high season, probably just because there is far less mongers here.

So go go salaries are even higher than 8,000 baht. Far East Rock Soi Post Office (13/2) pays 15,000 baht per month. And Peppermint pays the fish bowl girls 14,000 baht per month. But that is really not the point. The go go bars also charge double the drink prices in most cases to cover the higher cost. And as you know the bars really don't pay the girls as they must have a min. number of bar fines each moth to earn the salary.

But even putting the bar fine aside, why should a go go girl get double the tip of a beer bar girl? The standard beer bar tip is 500 baht ST, and 800-000 baht LT vs. 1000 baht ST and 1500 - 2000 baht LT for a go go bar. They are the same girls in many cases so why pay them double?

Is the pussy better at a go go bar? In most cases I have found this not to be true. Most of the fresh, young (legal age) girls I have found have been in beer bars and not go go bars. Also the beer bar girls overall tend to be much more friendly then the go go girls.

And please posters don't post back this garbage about how it is only a some amount of money and why be cheap? It has nothing to do with being cheap, our standard of living in the West is not the standard of living in Thailand. It is all about overpaying and being ripped off.

Freelancers, beer bar, go go bar girls it is all a joke they're all girls looking to take your money and sleep with you. Use them, pay them and more on. But for the guys here for only a few days each year they feel they must overpay to get as much auction into a short amount of time as possible.

The salary of a bargirl ranges from 1.000 - 2500 and of a gogo girl from 3.000 - 8.000 (including shows). As you already pointed out - the operating costs of a Gogo are also higher. Don't get me wrong, I do not try to defend the higher barfine and would be more than happy if they wouldn't charge any barfine at all, but the ratio 1 : 2,5 could be explained somehow. Nevertheless I believe that they would still make some good money even if they would charge less, not to forget that almost no gogo girl will ever get her full salary. They are fined for almost everything, being late (even just a few minutes), wrong dress, not enough lady drinks and/or offs and so on.

700 baht are a scam but remember, Christmas and New Year many Gogos charge you even 1.000 and some Gogos charge you more than the usual 500 if you take the lady before midnight.

Classroom A Go Go Soi Pattayaland 4 (13/4) is not likemost other go go clubs in Pattaya. As has been already pointed out the bar fine is 700 baht, a 700 baht bar fine is nothing more than a rip off of the customer. Really even the differance between a beer bar and go go bar, bar fine is to much already.

Why should a beer bar have a 200 baht fine and a go go a 500, 600, or 700 baht bar fine? Granted the cost are higher in a go go to operated but not 3 1/2 times. And then the girls want double the tip (beer bar vs. go go bar), in the old days when the go go guirls were all 9 plus, it was worth it. Today the average go go girl is equal in looks to most beer bar girls. Some say you pay more in a go go bar because you can see the girl without clothes, that is not the case in Classroom, beer bar girls wear less clothes than the girls in classroom.

Even if you pay the 700 baht, classroom still try's to screw you by not letting the girls leave the club many times until later in the night. If you bar fine a girl longtime the club wants her back in the bar each night with you to drink for several hours. Next time in the club look around at the classroom girls in street clothes with customers and they stay for hours. Your girl also get a 40 baht cut on every drink you buy her, even after you have bar fined her while at the club.

Anyone who has spent any time in Pattaya can find much better clubs to hang at.

Hey fellow mongers! I just got back from Pattaya and had a pretty decent MP experience.

I have been in Thailand and Pattaya at least once during every month of the year. October is a great time to go, it is when the temps start to fall, just before high season, and the girls are really hungery then.

As for the rain it can rain alot in the begining of the month but for the most part the rain is gone by the middle to end of the month. Even if it is raining it is not a big deal, the rain comes and goes very fast and the bars and girls are always ready to serve rain or no rain.

I would say October is one of the times I like best in Thailand. Enjoy yourself, I know I will be doing the same.
