Authorities are widely circulating that the 5 days are confined to the resort and visitors are free to use pool, restaurant etc facilities.

Not as good as being able to walk around town / visit other areas but much better than being trapped in a room for a week.

It should be unlikely, but what happens if one of the other travellers that you are sharing the hotel facilities with, tests positive during quarantine? Will your quarantine be extended?

A 5 day quarantine is 5 days too long. I am not going to bother until the Indonesian Government abolishes Quarantine for all travelers. I hope ALL tourists stay away from Indonesia.

To date, Indonesia has been slow to ease, but I expect Indonesia to abolish quarantine in less than two months i.e by end of March.

What's in Sulawesi? I'm looking for new places to explore on a coming trip.

Lots of land and water based natural beauty. Just Google for the the tourist sites. Manado, Bunaken, Wakatobi, Toraja.

In line with this thread, many find the Bugis girls of Sth Sulawesi gorgeous. Can be crazy but very beautiful. As usual, beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

I have no idea how to correctly interpret their rules cause it is so confusing. This is the way how I have interpret it. Maybe someone can provide further clarification and / or corrections.

For those with tourist visa, they can only use them for entry into Bali or Riau, not Jakarta. The US embassy as of this writing still mentions that US citizens are still not eligible for tourist visa.

To travel to Jakarta, you would need a business visa. They have this matrix of different visa type that are so confusing. To apply for visa, you need to know someone who can sponsor you with a letter etc.

Now they only require 5 days quarantine for international traveler if you are fully vaxxed.

For domestic travel, you would still need to be fully vaxxed and show negative tests, 1-day for Antigen, 3-days for PCR to board domestic flights. All verifications done through their Peduli Lindungi app which I assume is their version of vaxx passport.

The whole thing is just a maze.

After the 5 days is the tourist able to go to other provinces eg Sulawesi or does he need to stay where he arrived: Bali, Riau, Jakarta?

Coordinating Maritime Affairs and Investment Minister Luhut Pandjaitan told reporters on Monday that only travelers with two doses of COVID-19 vaccine will be allowed to do the five-day quarantine, while those who only received the first jab must quarantine for seven days. The ministry made the decision based on the Omicron variant's incubation period of three days.

And, if so, is it basically the same as the 3 day rules? Those rules required only 2 nights and 3 days in a quarantine hotel (lots of options including the Four Seasons). So are we now looking at 5 days, 4 nights?

Anyone following the political movements and has an educated guess on when that will drop back to 3 days? It's certainly positive that Thailand has now gone to zero days. Maybe will be a helpful nudge.

Seems there should be a separate thread for Covid Travel Restrictions. Maybe the mod can set that up?

Han Chinese are the dominate ethic group in China, and I think some of them are among most beautiful women anywhere, but they have 1. 6 billion people so the hit rate doesn't have to be very high to deliver one gem. Personally, I'the replace Filipina with Vietnamese or Japanese. I like short women, but Pinoys are usually both short and chubby. Japan has some stunning models, but a few hours at lunchtime in Tokyo's will convince you that the average Japanese woman isn't very attractive.

Sorry, I just assumed people would realize I meant Han Chinese. And it's a personal preference anyways.

In the meantime, I would love to hear more about "Rawa Malang and Royal Gedung". I can find a place called Rawa Malang (which looks to be in an "interesting" part of town but "Royal Gedung" eludes me.

I have been here. I believe I left a report, but in summary, it was a hell of a way to go for nothing particularly special. I went in the late afternoon. It felt very safe and chill, but its a slum area with bars playing loud music and some hores hanging about. Most were middle-aged MILFs and unappealing to me. I thought it would be a complete strike out but I kept searching. Eventually, I did hook up with the 22 yr old cewek in the photo who was actually fairly good looking, not a MILF and the youngest woman I saw. But the deed had to be done in a hot, cramped, dirty concrete box of a room with no running water. Don't recall what I paid, but it wasn't much and she wasn't much of fcuk. If you are bored, have nothing to do and are in the mood for adventure and you have a way to get out there, near the ditches, it might be a worthwhile distraction. I recommend it for the monger who doesnt mind slumming it and is bored of the clubs, but dont expect a PSE.

Tell us how it goes if that VOA is available and you are back in Jakarta. Me, I’m gonna pay the money for the business visa when the quarantines get back to 2 nights.

This was part of the B211 A visa application. Most big name insurance PPO have a high limit with foreign coverage in emergency or urgent care. Submit your card and roll the dice. They don't ask at CGK upon arrival. There, they want vax card, PCR test, your quarantine hotel designation, health report, and ehac.

While at CGK, they'll give you your first PCR test also and you're required to wait for the results. The whole process could be 3 to 4 hours to get out of CGK into your quarantine transportation to even start heading out to your quarantine hotel.

I was never asked about medical insurance. Had to show visa, PCR test, passport in the US, Narita and at CGK.

Did not have to wait for PCR test results. Did the test and they directed me onward. Was on my way to quarantine hotel within an hour. I was expecting to wait for results.

A couple more days and off to enjoy my birdwatcher.

In my experience having lived there previously for more than 4 years, this was never asked for, usually you will only be asked for evidence of exit (if no KITAS), and work sponsorship if going there for work. If travel is opened for holiday, then it will be exit flight (to prove you won't overstay) and proof of accommodation (hotel etc.).
