Well you are right that Colombia is 13th in total cases and 10th in total deaths but is that an analytically sound way to look at it? Of course not. A country that has 1/10 the population of Colombia and has 1/2 as many cases is doing dramatically worse. If you are getting your information from Worldometer (a great source). Try clicking on the cases per million. That will do a lot to normalize the total cases and death counts.

Colombia is 83rd in the world for total cases per 1 million.

Colombia is 23rd in the world for deaths from CoVid per 1 million.

Colombia is 110th in the world for CoVid testing per 1 million.

I am writing this on the fly. Off the top of my head and I am sure I will make errors of omission. When comparing the US to Colombia, what were the outcomes of the vaccinated patients, other than life or death? What were the hospitalization rates? What was the overall Cost to Treat each case? What was the cost of not treating? Are we comparing same branded vaccines or different vaccines? Are the two countries using the same collecting and reporting methodology? What was the percentage of each of the many related cohorts related to Covid identified in previous posts and not just death rates?

Plus, as you may have surmised by now, the entire data set is fatally flawed making meaninful comparisons moot. This is not a case of imperfect data. This is the Purrfekt Storm in medical history for the clusterfuk of all time in handling a classic population health issue, Vaccination. Thank you Internet or what I refer to as a Professorial Brain With Alzheimers.

The sky is not falling because this is a pansy virus with low mortality rates. All these "measures" and interventions youse guys are discussing you would not even be a consideration if this were the real scary shit like a disease with an attack rate of 50% and a mortality rate of 50%. Colombia is getting ahead of the curve and transitioning to a current state mindset from lessons learned, either by plan or default.
