I am of the same opinion. Was thinking of making a trip to see my long waiting virgin. Still says she is and waiting. Have been chatting with others also. I did some research and found many restrictions. Besides the hotels who were girfriendly may not be anymore for now. Travel restrictions maybe in place including proof of vaccination and temp check and such.

Have some credit from cancelled flights and plan to wait till October. Hopefully by then things should be back to normal unless another varient pops it's ugly head.

Let's add to that the uncertainty about whether the 30 day tourist visa can be extended. According to some, at this point, there's no intention to extend it beyond 30 days, but I've no idea if that's definitive. However, it might be a point worth checking for those thinking of staying longer.

United Airlines insurance only covers up to $10,000 medical.

    Does anyone know about this?

Anyone know how to get $35,000 coverage?

Anyone know how to bump up United coverage to $35,000?
I used insurance by Safety Wings to get into Phuket last year.

100 k coverage inc covid, for my age it was about 35 usd a month.

It's a problem. I'm not going to send money to someone I never met. So they'd have to spend money for some joker on the Internet who may never show up. At least they'll have an ID. Doubt they'd go for expedited service if I'm not already there on the ground, though.

Looks like I'll have to setup a dating profile earlier than I usually would. Normally a week before I arrive is plenty of time to schedule a starting line up. Plus I avoid turning into a pinay pen pal.

South By Sw 3 (and 2).

Yes, but maybe you could upgrade your card or from another bank to get this coverage.

Unless it doesn't exist in your country.

This could be less costly than a specific insurance.

Upon searching online for Travel and Medical Insurance I found policies ranging $187 -$300 for minimum $50,000 coverage. United Airlines policy with $10 k coverage thru Allaniz cost $95. Online with Allaniz $50 k coverage cost $187.

So it is doable. Just be aware of the requirement.

Yes, I think we can ask them to send a picture to check, at least, if their ID look like the postal ID.

Why I love Philippines, reason #263

They had IDs, but I feared that I might get scammed (like the police scam described here about a year ago), and sent them on their way. There is nothing in the world that I want less than a trip to a police station in Manila! Now all I have to do is insist on a postal ID.

I hope this is getting wide acceptance and that the girls catch on quickly. I won't be in Manila until May, and am looking forward to filling my days and nights with close encounters of the best kind!
There were a plethora of ways to get fake ID's before, in the provinces and NCR. My fav was when one of my provincial gals (posted in the PG) wanted an ID and she told me the place where she was getting it (p350). Later when I was walking in the area one day I walked into the business. Their legit business is as a printing shop. I saw a lady walk in and ask for an ID. The clerk took the lady's pic with his phone, connected the phone to a computer with a cable, transferred the pic to the computer, and printed the pic on paper. He cut the pic to size (about 1" square). He took another pre-cut piece of thick paper and with an ink pen, he hand-wrote: "PhilHeath", and "Maria DeLa Cruz" underneath it. He put a piece of tape on the picture and taped it to the thick new PhilHealth card and handed it to her. That was it. She paid and walked out, happy with what I thought was the worst fake ID ever. Nobody would think that was a real PhilHealth card. Previously my gal and I had been turned down at bars because she looked too young. BUT, my girl got a similar crappy fake one, and we used it at several bars / hotels successfully.

With the advent of hard plastic and holograms, me-thinks those days are over.
